Can anyone help me identify this bird I took a pic of? A heron of some sort.?

I live in SE Pennsylvania and found this in the woods in October of 2005, and got several pictures although this is the best one. Upon first looking up I thought it to be a Tri-colored Heron, but it didn't fit perfectly and seemed a little out of its range (supposed to be rare around here). So for the longest time afterwards I've been calling it a Great Blue Heron, but then I was having second thoughts about it because the beak and legs looked like the wrong colors. So now I'm stuck with a Great Tri-colored Heron mix... can anyone offer their opinion please? This is my picture:

Thanks ahead of time!
