Need answer from HANDS ON Experience in a homemade methane digester OR composting toilet OR earth toilet ?
On the methane digester, how do you pipe the gas into something to use and what kind of orifice/ fittings do I need to put it to actual use. I read the things about using old tubes and piping it to the valve stem but I'm concerned a bicycle pump hose would not substain the pressure. What kind of hose would I need to make this work with out risking it rupturing and explosions?.
Can it be transfered into a simple LP tank? What equipment do I need to do that?
Answer:
I have experience building digesters in Costa Rica. Try using PVC tubing of 1/2" thickness. It won't rupture. If you suspect a leak, fill the tubing with water and check for any droplets forming on the outside surface. You can see three different homemade digester designs at RuralCostaRica.com.
Cheers!
