What are some of the best ways to stop global warming?

do you have suggestions on how to save earths problem of global warming?
im trying to limit my household by getting as much tips as i can and sharing them with my parents and my brothers and sister.

Answer:
by stop talking about the scheme

Gore is just out to make a buck... first this doctored-mentory. Then selling of lies in a book, also charging the public to sign it. Selling carbon credits to fake companies that only has ultimately one bank account, reference to mansion in Tenn and many upgrades to it since the boom of carbon credits. Public speaking and charging ludicrious amounts to hear him blow hot co2... and on and on.
Nuclear winter was the fear of the day in the 70's so it might balance things out today.
Some easy ways are to replace regular light bulbs with the new energy efficient bulbs. Recycle as much as you can, turn the heat up (or down ) 1 or 2 degrees. Try walking instead of driving a car if you can, ride the bus, use a bike. Don't let the water run or stand with the refrigerator door open. Turn off unneeded lights. Buy locally grown foods.

I hope these ideas help.
Blow up the sun.
Remove the catalytic converter from your car so the SO2 can waft up into the stratosphere, where it can reflect sunlight away from the earth.
Start at home. There is a phenomenon called rain shadow. To understand it picture a bunch of rain laden clouds coming in and slamming into the side of a mountain. The rain hits the mountain the same way it hits you. If you are standing in front of something dry when the rain comes then behind you will be a dry spot that we call a rain shadow.
Mountain create rain shadows in 2 ways.
1) What runs into them falls out and doesn't make it over their tops. and 2) , the one that happens most often, The clouds come in and they hit hot air that is sitting over the mountains and it causes them to rise. The more they rise the more spread out the air that is keeping the water a float gets. The air will get so then that the water will start to fall out. Most often we see this happening in the form of thunderheads. The reason the air rises over the mountains is in part due to the mountains acting like ramps for the air to jump right over it, but also due to what mountains are made of. Mountains are very very old. The ones that didn't get worn down in some big water related event are the ones we see today. They are hard rocks that only wear down a tiny bit each year. These rocks absorb energy from the sun like lizards. But, unlike lizards they heat up and release their energy at night, kinda like solar lights.
When the rocks release the energy they absorb in the form of heat it causes an event called thermal lift. This heat rises and carries with it the moisture in the clouds. As the water goes up it falls out in the form of rain. So when you think rain shadow think one side of a mountain green and one side brown and rocky. The reasons the water falls out on the green side are 1) height, 2) wind driven interactions, and 3) orographic lift.
Now look at the Cityscapes we live in. These are giant structures made of stone, but unlike mountains nothing green lives on them. They are tall, wide, and consume green spaces that absorb and hold energy and carbon. Our biggest cities are between mountains and water. These Cities absorb energy and release it in the same way mountains do. The thermal lift causes the moisture to rise and in process of rising it hits the particulate matter in our atmosphere. These particles make the water heavier and more likely to fall. Now imagine a Mountains and Cityscapes side by side. If a city is the same size of a mountain wouldn't you think it would take the same amount of rain?
To change this we need to change the way we make our cities. It is going to involve people just like you studying a little bit and trying to be part of the solution. You will have to learn calculus; which is just a way to think in 3D. first in x and y, then y and z, and finally x and z. That way you can see anything any where. you will be able to know how to figure out how far in front of you, how far to the side of you, and how far above you anything is. Once you can do it for one thing, then you can do it for two and draw a line between them. The slope of that line is called a derivative. The area under that line is found by performing an integral. Then its just figuring out integrals on the x- y, x-z and y-z axes. Once you have that you can see any thing in 3d. Not only can you see it, but you will know exactly how big it is and where it is. beyond that is just learning how to following the bouncing ball from one second to the next, one day to the next, and then in relation to other balls.

If you can understand that, then you can do it. You just have to believe you can and practice. if you can pick up an apple and know what the other side of it looks like without looking, then you have all the tools you need in your head already. Then it will just be practice.

As for the solution? You are going to have to figure it out for us. The problem is your mom and dad can't do it. I have a degree in environmental engineering and I can't do it. We don't understand computers well enough. If I told my boss our your parents they need to
one) interlink the AI engines of Civilization and SIMS with the real physics engine from Half-life2
B) run the new AI engine in a Vue6 USGS DEM import environment
iii) calibrate the model until it is within confidence limits
IV) Complicate and calibrate the model until it reflects reality
e) run batch scenarios
6) IRL
7) calibrate
8) v2.6.2
If I was to tell that to your parents that they would just look at me say "uhh, what?" and that would be the end of it. But you are part of the Wikigenerations. You know how to look up and inter link all the parts you don't understand until you do. That and you know you know more than the people telling you that you can't do something.

My guess at a portion of the solution to the global warming problem is to try to model the Cityscape rain shadow phenomenon and try different ideas in video game mode until we find the best one. Once we figure that out in the computer we try a pilot city in real life. After we build it we look back at the vidoe game and see where we went wrong and how to best fix the things we didn't do right the first time. Then try and try again.
We change the world around us by being part of the change; by being the first pebble that causes the avalanche. All things start somewhere. Why not here?

But if you don't want to do all that you can trust someone else to do it and you just use the things they make.
One good way is to generate a lot of dust, and get it into the atmosphere, to reflect all the heat away. Especially light coloured dust.

I think we can do that by putting a controlled leak on all industrial dust collectors, and letting them buy "Dust Credits" so they can pour out a selected amount of dust. This will cure the global heating from all causes, nullifying the arguments, and if we choose which dust properly, it will fertilize the soils when it settles out also. It helps industry to reduce their costs so our products will be less expensive, and each year the IPCC can meet, vote on the total dust permitted to exactly move the average temperature to where it needs to be for optimum human submission, and distribute the Dust Credits to the lucky recipients for that year..

We are then relieved of onerous restrictions on our lives, pay less for products, and life will be much sweeter, And if the CO2 goes up, just will make the plants grow that much better!! Improve agriculture and feed a hungry world.

It is a win-win situation. Even Al Gore can have his mansions and vehicles and airplanes and use them all he wants, and claim he invented this idea on his own, if he likes! Each person remains free to do as they see economically and long term to be best for them and their families.. No draconian "you musts" there. No social stigmas ripping our populace apart either.

And sunsets will be so much prettier.
Reducing the global warming is not an easy task to do. Each and everybody has to take care of their activities.
No single factor will contribute totally for the global warming. Limited usage of automobiles, refrigerators, etc are good solutions. But impossible to implement. First the developed countries should take necesary action.

What we can do is harvest rain water, lessen the usage of automobiles, avoid refrigerators that are using CFC s ,etc.
we could do what we used to do, when i was a kid, everyone just burned their garbage in 50 gallon drums in the alley..anyone as old as me (45) remembers the smog that our larger cities had in those days...that smog blocked the sunlight and in turn, kept the whole planet cooler...then we stopped doing that, the smog dissapeared, and now it's hot...fairly obvious to me why it's warming up. and even al gore has said that by putting a bunch of black particulate matter into the atmosphere would cool the planet.
Well we could start by asking Al Gore and the rest to close their mouths because they are so full of hot air along with methane gas they alone are capable of raising the global temps by several degrees.
Global warming is indeed a serious matter. Here are ten simple things to do:

- Use compact fluorescent lights. They save 150 lbs. of carbon dioxide every year.
- Drive less. Every mile you don't drive, you'll save a pound of carbon dioxide.
- By recycling, you can save more than 2400 lbs of carbon dioxide a year.
- Make sure your tires are properly inflated. Your gas mileage will improve by more than 3%. You will also save 20 lbs. of carbon dioxide.
- Use less hot water. Install a low-flow showerhead. 350 lbs saved.
-Cutting down your garbage by 10% will save 1200 lbs of car.diox.
- Move your thermostat up two degrees in the summer, and down two degrees in the winter. 2000 pounds of the carbon dioxide saved.(per year).
-Plant a tree. It will absorb one ton of the carbon dioxide during it's life.
- Save thousands of lbs of carb.dioxide by turning off electronic devices when not used.
-Learn more at ClimateCrisis.net.
As the Live Earth concerts stated last weekend, just being aware of it is good enough.
Adopt TAGP(tm) a comprehensive program to address global warming.
use CNG for vehicals. try 2 increase the trees and plants.
I just read about this website on the Wall Street Journal: Carbon Diet Plan. It is an application that can put us on a 'carbon diet'. As an individual and friends, we can make an impact on global warming 1 lb at a time.
