Israel made her deserts bloom by asking for donations for trees,so why not tax deductible donations for trees?

Answer:
Yes.. It is a wonderful idea.
let all the Nations decide to have a tax tree tax or whatever name is used, and use the revenue generated thus for planting trees.
Also the most important thing before that is to stop already planted trees from felling. It takes many years for a tree to grow and this time should not be lost.
If the organization is non-profit charity, then it may very well qualify for tax-deductible donations from individuals.

An excellent idea - and I think there are such organizations that already qualify.
There are small grassroots projects going on in cities right now to pant trees on streets in residential areas. All the residents have to do is request a tree be planted on their street and the group come out and plants the tree for them the person or group of people requesting the tree are then responsible for watering and caring for the tree. The program is working well in Baltimore by providing shade trees on otherwise bare streets and it is causing neighbors to take a bit more pride in their street. I seriously doubt the government will offer anything like this, remember they still deny global warming!
