Which spends most power?

my youngest brother is afraid of the dark. - we are trying to turn things around at home to become more environmental-friendly. usually we left the hallway light on so he would sleep with his door open and "not be scared". he's just a kid and won't accept to sleep with the light off. so we were wondering if a regular light bulb or one of those glade light shows would save more energy and be less damaging.

Unless the hallway light is a compact fluorescent bulb, most likely the glade thing would be better. There are some nightlights that glow green and are very small users of electricity.

My nephew went through the same thing. I used tea light candles. For safety, I only used one at a time and isolated it in the middle of a pie plate that I filled with mud and placed on the floor. If you're more comfortable with electricity though, I would suggest a compact flourescent bulb. They last longer and cost less than glade light shows in the long run, plus you would be able to use it for something other than putting your son to sleep.

A glade nite light would use about 4 to 7 watts of electric a standard buld uses 40 to 75 watts (Depending on the bulb.) So yes you would save electric.
