my youngest brother is afraid of the dark. - we are trying to turn things around at home to become more environmental-friendly. usually we left the hallway light on so he would sleep with his door open and "not be scared". he's just a kid and won't accept to sleep with the light off. so we were wondering if a regular light bulb or one of those glade light shows would save more energy and be less damaging.
Answer:
A simple nightlite using LEDs would be your best course of action- a Glade light show uses additional unnecessary materials for the scented part which you have to replace periodically- and he seems like he only needs the lights, not the scents. LEDs use less energy and emits bright light- and I'm pretty sure they produce nightlites with them nowadays. Hopefully that'll suck up less juice while allowing him to sleep happily.
Use an energy-efficient nightlight; that is what I used to use when I was a kid. It will be smaller, provide enough light, last longer, and use less energy.
