The Sun is not to blame?

Answer:
only an idiot would think it was, WE are to blame because we've filled our atmosphere with green house gasses.
I never thought it was to blame anyway...did anyone else?
Not seen it for weeks.Have we still got one?
Its not to Blame.. Its Gases produced by us thickos which get trapped in the athmosphere that cause Global warming.. Thats been scientifically proven time and time again but the sceptics wont listen.. The sun is just doing what its been doing for millions of years.. We are F**king up this planet no question..
well the sun must take some of the blame because if it was not there we would not have global warming
It has been to blame in the past and may still be to blame. This is just one study.
This is not a major change. The previous best estimate was that the Sun was responsible for perhaps 10% of the temperature rise over the past two decades. Now, the number is closer to zero.
This eliminates the last possible alternative explanation for the recent acceleration of global warming - that increased solar activity has blocked cosmic rays which cause cooling via cloud formation. Svensmark's hypothesis was the last hope of global warming deniers.
Now no rational person who examines the scientific evidence can avoid the clear explanation - that human greenhouse gas emissions are the primary cause of the recent acceleration in global warming.
Well..it all rather depends on who is funding the research. Remember how the cigarette companies and their scientists managed to 'prove' there was no link between the weed and cancer? It's the same principle here. Now scientists 'prove' there is no link between the sun and the earth's temperature. So what they are really saying is, that great yellow ball in the sky has no impact upon the earth's temperature, but my washing machine...? Well, there's the culprit!
Scientists seek to push the global warming story in order to maximise their funding. Governments want global warming to gain mainstream acceptance so they can introduce yet more taxes. Understand it for what it is.
No you are right because it's not the sun causing it it is us that's hurting the planet we are making warmer than it already is by burning fossil fuels and other harmful things to the planet.
If I remember right though there is something about the sun's solar flares that have something to do with it also...but no, I agree it isn't entirely to blame.
Normally the heat would be let out, etc...but all our *crap* keeps it in.

Neither we nor the sun is destroying the planet, at this time. There are always changes taking place, they have occurred for billions of years and will for billions more. Change is not destruction, it is merely change, even if inconvenient to us.

Or, the short answer - Lockwood was not measuring muons, which is what the Svensmark hypothesis centers on. If you think that all cosmic rays/particles are the same, then I can't help you. Don't feel bad - most people don't know or appreciate the differences. And even scientists...
