How do you find a free PC & internet service for a needy child?
Answer:
Needy children have other needs than a computer and internet connection. That is a want, not a need.
Check your local library-- they often have internet access available for free. If there is a nearby university, you can see if their library or computer labs are open to the public.
If you want the child to have a PC and internet from their own home, you can write to all the local businesses asking if they have an old computer they wish to donate. If you write enough letters, I'm sure you'll get a response, since companies are always throwing away old (but functional) computers and replacing them with newer ones.
For internet access, you can keep an eye open for those Free Trial CD's, often found in department stores, malls, grocery stores, etc. You'll have to install a new CD (possibly from a new service, like AOL, EarthLink, etc...) every month, but it's better than nothing.
Needy children DO not need computers or internet service.
Needy children don't require Internet access to survive. Needy people need food, shelter, clothing.the basics. Internet and computers are luxury items.
