Useing Humans for production of electricity ! is this a viable approach?
this will create jobs for every one as anyone can do it and also can help In indias energy crisis and also helps us to have a healthy population, we can have it in every community,
My question is is this idea viable?
Answer:
hey! even i thought that too! it is a great idea --both problems of unemployment & electricity will be solved
Gosh ! I can't imagine that. Although we have a huge population, everybody has their own family & problems. They can only think of solving personal issues.
It's technically viable.. but not economically.
no.
your house uses a couple of kilowatts, 24/7.
a person can generate 1/5 kw at most.
working really hard.
for an extended length of time.
so it would take 30 people to power your house, 8 hours a day, 7 days a week, each.
and since they're working only for you, you have to pay them, feed them and their families, make sure their children go to school, etc.
and find some place for them to do all this work -- for you.
what'da ya think? maybe not?
and we didn't even get to industry yet.
this is not the first time this has come up.
many people don't realize the energy stored in gas, coal, and oil.
it's really astounding.
if you have a 150 hp car, that energy would take 700 people to produce.
amazing.
The general population is so lazy that it would be nearly impossible to get them motivated for exercise for the common good. Most people will not exercise for their own good. Sadly- we will continue to eat chips and lay on our sofas as we burn millions of kilowatt hours of electricity keeping our fat selves air conditioned.
The energy required to fuel the people to produce the energy would be less than what you get out of it..
Take it up with congress. You'd be suprised...lol.
It's actually not a bad idea. The u.s. population is fatter than ever. This would help americans & others to lose weight & be proud of their work. Just think if you worked at a place like this, when you got home you would be more cautious of the electricity you used & proud of the fact that you helped make it. You would know what it took to produce that energy.
The idea is good but no one will be willing to work without a pay and since they have to exercise a lot they are going to need lot of food which is just not there in India. But if it somehow happens, i bet Indians will be the strongest people in the world.
This idea was explored further in the "The Matrix" movie trilogy (especially the first movie). In that version, people were little more than parts in a huge electric generator... I wouldn't like to be that myself.
If we hook the treadmills up to something to transform our running into energy it might work. Then we can be twice as productive.
You can attract people who like to do exercise and also have to creat treadmill or cycle that can produce elec.
think about it might workable
NOthing is impossible
they have worked out ways to harness the energy from dance floors and walk ways, although these are still R&D stages I think...
Also gyms have started to add magnets to their weights to generate electrical energy as there is a tremendous amount of energy being wasted at the gym eg. weights, bench presses, bicycle dynamos etc. etc.
I think a few have opened up in England...
ONE HAS TO ROTATE GENERATOR AT SPECIFIED REVOLUTION PER MINUTE, TO GET FIXED FREQUENCY. SO IDEA IS VIABLE, BUT NOT SUSTAINABLE.
I don't know about using groups of people to create energy, however I wouldn't mind having the technology that would enable me to exercise and at the same time to create energy to power my tv, stereo and other electrical gadgets in my home.
