What have you notice from global warming?
Answer:
In my opinion, both sides are politicizing the issue more than they should, but what's really reprehensible is that the anti-environmentalists are using their refusal to believe in global warming as an excuse to refuse to change any of their irresponsible and planet-harming ways. Whether you believe in global warming or not should be virtually irrelevant. There are other indisputable reasons why we need to reduce emissions. Here in Phoenix, and in other major metropolitan areas, we frequently have ozone advisories, warning even healthy active adults to stay inside or minimize their outdoor activities. In case you don't know, most ozone comes from car exhaust fumes, power plants and other man-made sources of nitrous oxides. Will people have to start dropping dead in the streets before the extremists recognize that unhealthy air is a bad thing?
the awkward weather or wacky weather. In the summer is suppose to be really hot, but really in Southern California its been cloudy and parts in California its raining and windy with strange wildfire appearing (usually happens in the winter because of the cold dry air). No rain for the last 3 years, only less than an inch of rain we had so far.
it's got colder. (where i am anyway!)
"Global Warming" in part of a natural weather cycle on good old planet earth. The biggest contributor to warming at the moment according to the most current science is the good old sun of ours. The earth has an elliptical orbit and the planet in in a closer position currently. In geological terms we're going to have another ice age soon by the way.
Now before all the Chicken Little's chime in let me say this. I do agree with the arguments that we need to curb green house gas emissions (all of them not just CO2). I fully support conservation, the planting of more trees and the use of alternative fuels. All of these are good things HOWEVER none of these will dramatically reduce the effects of the current warming cycle our earth is facing.
God will protect us :+)
Weather's acting weird. raining all the time, cooler when it's supposed to be hot, warmer when it's supposed to be cold.
I live in Michigan, and last winter it didn't get cold until december (which is weird) and the winters have been short and not that cold.
The only thing that I have noticed is the later winters...but in retrospect..the summers are later too...so all in all, couldn't that just be the fact that the earth revolves around the sun and NOTHING in nature is predictable? Even with that, our winters are just as cold as ever (being from upstate NY, 2 winters ago, we had a very cold February at -18 almost daily) Now with that, how could that possibly be WARMER?? Our summers are just as hot as they were then and I have yet to see any dramatic change in anything besides the increase in Gypsy moths killing the trees in the mountains..how about making that a global issue instead!
Anecdotal evidence doesn't really count. The rate of warming is quite small: 0.03 C/year. This is small compared to natural variations in the annual average global temperature. So small, that even though global warming is happening, it is statistically quite likely that the average annual global temperature could fall for 5 years in a row. Nevertheless, the 3 C rise in a century (and another 3 C rise the century after that) will be a disaster for the Earth and for mankind.
I point out, however, that I am now able to plant tomatoes two weeks earlier than was possible twenty years ago.
All people who say they have noticed effects of global warming are lying, or rather, seriously misguuided. According to the scientists who support the theory, the oceans have only heated up 1/2 a degree in the past 75 years. No one other than scientists collecting data have noticed this. A 1/2 degree cannot be felt by the body.
And those who say that they have noticed sporadic weather patterns are correct in there observations. However, this is a natural phenomenon that has not been explained by scientists and is not due to global warming in any way as of yet. It is actually a part of a cycle that occurs every 40 years. Hurricanes became more prevalent in 1 out of four decades.
As an example: 1920's=Bad Hurricanes, 1930's= Minor Hurricanes, 1940's=Minor Hurricanes, 1950's=Minor Hurricanes, 1960's=Bad Hurricanes, 1970's= Minor Hurricanes,1980's=Minor Hurricanes, 1990's=Minor Hurricanes, 2000's=Bad Hurricanes..
This is a pattern than has been noted by many meteorologists over time.
Those who say they have noticed that this past winter has been unusually warm are correct, but the warm weather is not due to global warming. There have been oddball winters forever. When you get 100 warm winters in a row, that's where there is a problem.
In summary, there have been no negative effects of global warming as of now. Scientists are worried that there may be some consequences evident in the future.
Less squirrels around because of the heat. But then again, It's summer time & it's supposed to be HOT.
