Global warming. Please read my thoughts. Comment about it, thank you.?
I really feel for our earth after reading this article. If the climate change worsens, what will happen to everything? It may not seem as a big issue for some who are ignorant, but to others that are aware of what’s going on and how it impacts everything around us, we do begin to feel a little anxious about everything. Questions would occasionally pop into my mind; Questions like, “Is the world really coming to an end?”, and It would send shivers down my spine. Of course, like every other homosapien, I would definitely not want the world to come to an end.
I feel sorry for Australia. It was said in the article as due to climatic change, half of the coral reefs (which are really precious to the country) are affected badly by global warming. It is literally like having cancer in the bones! Also, in my opinion, the whole ecosystem would be affected too, as all animals serve as a predator/prey in ecosystem. This would therefore
Answer:
I think your outlook is a bit too grim. We still have time to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions enough to avoid the worst effects of global warming. Unfortunately there will be some consequences we can't avoid, like many coral reefs will die, as you mentioned. Some species won't be able to adapt to the changing climate and will go extinct. It won't be the end of the world though.
Humans need to take some blame. While it's true we weren't aware of the damaging effects of greenhouse gases back when cars were invented, or for most of the years we've been driving cars and burning coal etc., we know about it now. Even though we're aware of the effects, most people aren't willing to change their lifestyles to minimize their greenhouse gas emissions, and for that we need to accept some blame.
It won't take a miracle to avoid the worst consequences of global warming, but it will take some work. We need our governments to put a cap on the amount of carbon we emit, otherwise we'll never meet the level of greenhouse gas reductions we need. There's still hope.
by the time the world goes down ill be dead and the rest of the people will have gone to another planet. lol ur cute add me gordrulez@hotmail.com
I am also 15 years old, but I disagree. Global warming is not humans fault. If you look into the past, the world has undergone many climate changes without human interference, and just because it is happening again does not make us responsible.
I read your thoughts (I'm a mind reader) and it was nothing about global warming. Nasty, nasty 15 year old.
don't worry bebe, it's not gonna be the doom day yet...
A miracle? I guess in the sense that each sunrise can be considered a miracle.
I'm sorry that the media has saturated popular thinking with forecasts of doom. It is fearmongering at its worst. There are much more frightening things in this world. Much more frightening environmental problems facing us. Things that we can actually change.
A little wisdom can go a long way, but you'll have to be patient in order to receive it.
All life on Earth is connected. The rise of technology and the industrial revolution has had a profound effect upon the earth. Are we fully to blame? No one knows but we do know that the chemicals that we produce and expel into the world around us is showing up in the creatures that live in those areas. What we can do is try to reduce our imprint on the world. Reduce, reuse and recycle has been our mantra for years. Yet most people (in our western societies) have barely got the recycle part down. Reduce and Reuse is a alien concept to a material driven culture like ours. Even if we we're able to convince people to just reduce, reuse and recycle. It wouldn't have a tremendous effect but, a small change can still have a a pretty major effect. Ironic tho that the things we feel and sometimes agree have made life better for humanity in end could be it's destruction.
I think the universe will go through its cycles, meaning birth of planets/stars, death of planets/stars, etc. But on our earth, people and industry haven't helped. I think people are the cancer of the earth, but universal cycles will also end life on earth sometime way in the future. Man quickens that cycle.
Just do an internet search for eco friendly stuff.
We're not doomed. Global warming is bad, and it's well worth it to reduce it, but it's not the end of things.
Scientists have shown that we can reduce it to the point it's not a disaster. Here's the plan:

You can help. The first step is to learn about it it, so you can help other people understand and make your own decisions better. That's going to take some time.
Here's a good website:

Global warming and cooling has been happening on earth for millions of years. This cycle may or may not be worse than previous ones due to human activities. Pollution and more specifically CO2 emissions is primarily from deforestation and burning fossil fuels to provide humans with all the things they think they need. Many believe this extra CO2 is the reason this cycle will be worse. They may be right, and hopefully they are, because we can do some things that might help.
Nature is tough. It does not have feelings. It doesn't care about the reefs or rain forests, or anything else. We are a part of nature. If the global warming is just natural and not CO2, then there is nothing we can do about it but just deal with it as best we can. Nature has eliminated many species in the past. We may be the next one.
The people who say that cycles of warming and cooling are natural are ignoring two important facts. First, research has shown that we should currently be in a cooling trend (see first link), so why is the warming continuing? There are a lot more good links in Keith P's answer at the second link. This is genuine scientific research, not nutcases shouting that the sky is falling.
Secondly, some of those previous climatic changes wiped out most of the animal life on Earth. If things get completely out of control, it probably wouldn't be the end of the world, but it could be the end of us. As hard as it is for some people to face it, we're still part of nature. We're just one small piece of the worldwide ecosystem, but one of the things that set us apart from all other species is that we don't always live in harmony with the environment. We try to change it to suit our needs, and in doing that we often harm it.
Even if it could be proven that we're not responsible for global warming, there are many more compelling reasons for reducing emissions. Here in Phoenix, and in other large metropolitan areas, we often get ozone alerts saying that even healthy active adults should limit their outdoor activities. Ozone comes mostly from vehicle exhaust emissions. When the air isn't even safe to breathe sometimes, isn't that reason enough to do something before it's too late?
