The best place to find them, if your city has the mandatory recycling program, is to go around the night before the recycle truck comes around and take them out of the bins. I knew a guy that did this and made about $200 for the nights work. He had a truck of course. Also, it was legal. Try that.

The next best thing is to buy a recycling bin for your workplace.
We have a liquor store near by with a trash barrel in the lot, I found there is often lots of bottles and can put in there. So I'd try liquor stores and anywhere where soda and beer is sold or drank. Parks would be good like was already mentioned.
Recycle bins that people put near the road often have them as well as Dumpsters that are used at apartment complexes.

you can ask resturants to keep them 4 u they go through alot of cans each day and im sure they wouldnt mind
I have been recycling cans since the 1980's. Convience stores garbage cans are #1 in the Tampa Bay Area. Bus stops (with & without containers), local parks. The 'collect before the truck' is good, but it depends upon the area. Mobile home parks that have lot to lot pick up, they don't even recycle. Car wash can be good if the neighborhood is low income. Take some to a recycle center and ask the people with the most cans.
