What are cause of Environmental degradation ?
Answer:
Pollutions is the main cause for Environmental degradation. Due to increase in human activity, green cover is reducing day by day. Sound pollution, vehicle pollution, and industrial pollution have been increasing and causing concern to the existence of human beings.. Modern gadgets are one of the causes for pollution like refrigerators emitting fluro carbons and vehicles emitting carbon monoxide. Carbon dioxide content is increasing in the atmosphere due to highly polluting activities of human beings. Global warming is increasing day by day due to which glaciers are disappearing from the earth. Due to warm atmosphere due to increase in carbon dioxide content, the presence of glaciers and ice is melting very fast due to which the presence of flora and fauna there is being lost. Melting of glaciers and ice is increasing the level of seas resulting cyclones which are inundating many areas causing colossal loss to humanity. Unless the global warming and enviornmental degradation is arrested, much destruction of the earth by extinction of flora and fauna thus endangering the lives of human beings.
Environmental degradation is the deterioration of the environment through depletion of resources such as air, water and soil; the destruction of ecosystems and the extinction of wild life.
In the poorest regions of the world an estimated one in five children will not live to see their fifth birthday, primarily because of environment-related diseases
environmental threats to health in the industrialized nations are also of concern. In the wealthier countries these stem both from industrial pollution, including air pollution and toxic wastes, and biological sources such as food-borne disease
The excessive use of fertilizers is disrupting coastal ecosystems, leading to harmful algal blooms and fish deaths
in the Arctic, high levels of DDT are found in marine mammals, affecting their ability to reproduce.
Ozone pollution is damaging trees
while acid rain (and now "mercury rain") continues to plague the lakes and forests
Weakened immune systems and failure to reproduce are common effects of toxic pollution on a wide array of species.
In some cases, pollution from silt and nutrients chokes the life out of aquatic ecosystems, while in other cases physical barriers, such as dams, prevent native fish species from reproducing
Environmental degradation is related to the deterioration of the environment both in terms of quantity and extinction of some wildlife species and quality like air, water or land pollution.
Environmental degradation is one of the ten threats officially cautioned by the High Level Threat Panel of the United Nations. WRI (the World Resources Institute), UNEP (the United Nations Environment Programme), UNDP (the United Nations Development Programme) and the World Bank have made public an important report on health and the environment worldwide on May 1, 1998.
Environmental Change and Human Health, a special section of World Resources 1998-99 in this report describes how preventable illnesses and premature deaths are still occurring in very large numbers. If vast improvements are made in human health, millions of people will be living longer, healthier lives than ever before. In these poorest regions of the world an estimated one in five children will not live to see their fifth birthday, primarily because of environment-related diseases. Eleven million children die worldwide annually, equal to the combined populations of Norway and Switzerland, and mostly due to malaria, acute respiratory infections or diarrhoea--illnesses that are largely preventable.
Irresponsible human activities is the root of environmental degradation. Its effects may include the extinction of the human race. The solution is man himself. Do you expect the wildlife to give and make solutions?
we are exploring the minerals in the name of conversion for better use, in such a way that a day will come soon our plannet mother earth will lose its life conducive contents.
cause Human Beings
solution Nil
greenhouse emissions.
Environmental degradation is the pollution of the environment.
This is caused due to various reasons. Each& every man's negative action directlty or indirectly affects our surrounding.Infact the development of science& technology also acts as a cause for environmental degradation.
Vehicular movements are increasing on the roads;over population;thermal stations;industrial exhaust, etc, etc, etc.
If this environment gets degraded it threatens our survival .the only solution is to collectively resolve that we should never ever deplete our environment.
LETS ALL make sure that we protect the environment.
