How are the warming trends in the past similar to what is taking place now?

Answer:
There have been warming trends in the past, but they have been natural and taken longer than the one we are having now. These warm periods of time were what melted the ice ages and such, so it is very clear that they were necessary. But now the warming of the atmosphere is occurring at an alarming rate due to the huge amounts of carbon dioxide we are putting into the atmosphere. Nature has always balanced out the warming trends of the past, but that was also before the world had 6 billion people on it. The huge population and the coming of massive amounts of industry are what set this warming trend apart from the natural ones of the past.
They are not, their just a base of how industry of man has effected the climate.
