Who really thinks making cows burp less will decrease methane considerably to affect climate?

Answer:
No one. What I find funny is that the "cow" story started with a scientists giving a "spoof" presentation at a conference--intended as a joke.

And the "doubters" promptly--not gettingthe joke because they are so ignorant--took it seriously and proceeded to make fools of themselves. Again.
I do.
But of course, there is more to it than just making cows burp less.

There is also the elimination of bacteria that create methane in their digestion process, which may tremendously reduce their waste, allowing better digestive efficiency.
this translates to having to feed them less to get the same results.
Do you have any clue how much a cow eats, and how much energy and land is required just to feed them?? just reducing this by 1% would greatly increase the amount of food available for human consumption.

then you also have the fact that the mass amounts of waste they produce would be colonized by non-methane producing bacteria, which would reduce the amount of methane created by their waste degrading.
That has to be...one of the most senseless theories I have ever heard in my life.wow.
although they presented facts, i still find it funny...why are they blaming the cows for the human's faults?? the main solution is really dependent on the industrial factories and the like. its good that people are becoming aware of this issue and it is only we that can really make a difference in decreasing the causes of global warming, like using biofuel and so many others..
Sure, I do.

Just like I totally believe that holding Al Gore concerts is really going to help reduce carbon emissions...

Sure...
Retards, cretins and delusional maniacs.
I'm afraid Global Warming hysteria will get worse before it gets better. Have you noticed how Greenshirts are even advocating the elimination of meat from our diets altogether because of the Feedlot Fart Syndrome?

Think about it..if we all went vegan or vegetarian, we would replace meat will more vegetables...such as beans and cabbage. And I don't have to remind you what those foods create in the HUMAN digestive tract!
There you go again, crabby:

"And the "doubters" promptly--not gettingthe joke because they are so ignorant--took it seriously and proceeded to make fools of themselves. Again."

Take a look at the first response...he's one of the "believers". You have your information completely backwards. Again.

And jj, I don't know where you're getting your information, but cattle and every other ungulate or insect that eats a high-cellulose diet relies on bacteria to break down the cellulose and derive the nutrients. Methane is an unfortunate byproduct of that process. Why would we want to screw with a natural process that nature has "perfected" over millions of years? Is this another example of meddling by humans trying to control natural processes? How can someone profess to care about the environment, but try to unnaturally control it at every turn? Scary.
This is actually serious business. Farms in general are a large cause of global warming. And proper management techniques can reduce that contribution. Many scientists are working hard on it. Here are two examples of the work:

Burping methane? I think the methane comes out the other end of the cow.
