Getting cows to burp less can help reduce global warming, scientists say?

Humans pass gas too, are we next? To what extent should we go to stop methane emissions?

You saved me the time writing up this question!

So, now are they going to tell us that the slaughter of the American Buffalo by our ancestors was "environmental foresight?"
yeah pretty soon they'll be wanting to put corks up peoples butts.
That story was the biggest waste of my time. I hope people realize the global warming situation is complete political bs. Cows burping makes front page of Yahoo News. Whats next?
Ah man, I was going to post this! I opened up Yahoo and couldn't believe my eyes, but still got a good laugh out of it. It just goes to show the lengths these fanatics will go, nothing is too ridiculous, and I'm sure the greenies aren't laughing because they aren't really known for their sense of humor.

These global warming crusaders have to be the most bitter, angry, sour people around. Wouldn't you be, if you were driving around in your Prius with no A/C and those big diesel pickups were hauling a.s.s. past you making you choke on their CO2 fumes? At least that's how it goes down south.

Alright dude well try not to breathe much, stick to one sheet of toilet paper after taking your evening dump, and don't eat any beans.. there's my global warming blog for the night.

Peace Out bra..
Notice the guilt by association principle at work here. Animals used for HUMAN food supplies eat grass and corn, fart, and thats bad. But animals in the wild such as deer and mice eat the very same grass and corn, fart it out and thats all beautiful and natural and thats OK.
Yeah i think they kinda goon a lil kookkoo with that one lol
This is actually serious business. Farms in general are a large cause of global warming. And proper management techniques can reduce that contribution. Many scientists are working hard on it. Here are two examples of the work:

WOW.

That's all I have to say.
there is more to it than just making cows burp less.

There is also the elimination of bacteria that create methane in their digestion process, which may tremendously reduce their waste, allowing better digestive efficiency.
this translates to having to feed them less to get the same results.
Do you have any clue how much a cow eats, and how much energy and land is required just to feed them?? just reducing this by 1% would greatly increase the amount of food available for human consumption.

then you also have the fact that the mass amounts of waste they produce would be colonized by non-methane producing bacteria, which would reduce the amount of methane created by their waste degrading.

and they are already doing it with humans. what do you think that Bifodobacterium they have started putting in yogurt is suppose to do?? how do you think it makes your digestive system operate more efficiently?? similar idea.
Watch this video. Returning cows to a more natural diet has more benefits than stopping global warming (which I don't believe in). We could capture methane to use as a renewable fuel source and reap a double benefit (you can't eat an ethanol still).
