What are the effects of global warming on the bio diversity?

hey guys,
pls give me dis ans. asap.prob. by tom.

Answer:
Two major theories.

Retraction of polar ice, earlier and earlier ice melts that result in the loss of solid ice floes and pans for seal breeding and polar bear feeding. Loss of habitat for all polar dwelling animals, rising sea levels (soloman islands already flooding). Warming of the deep Gulf stream currents that will result in general rises in sea temperature which is already affecting effect marine ecological systems including killing of krill for whales, and the death of coral reefs (bleaching), changing climates will also cause increases in severe drought conditions, increased tornado and cyclonic activity, flash flooding in some areas, and rapid extinction rates of all species on earth.

The honey bee is in decline. Albert Einstein said when the honey bee disappears off the face ofthis earth, pollination will end, plants will die, animals will die, man will die.we will have only four years of survival left if the bees disappear. Bees are dying in the trillions right now from Colony Collapse disorder.

We should be very afraid. We are all inter-related and interdependent. Biodiversity is already contracting rapidly and will continue to do so with continued global warming.
Bio-diversity is affected by global warming because not all creatures can survive the changes. the only biological creatures that will survive are not necessarily those that are are earth-friendly. We need all existing forms of life to keep a balance.
Loss of habitat is big. Look at the poor polar bears :(
Well, polar bears are doing quite fine. of the 13 species, 11 are growing in number, but its soon to be ten cause Russia legalized polar bear hunting to attach death rays to the tops of thier heads, making them into communist, and invade the Aleutian islands.

To be more serious, we know that plants will grow in number b/c CO2 is a natural fertilizer that helps plants live longer, store more water, and hold it longer. Plants take in CO2 in photsynthesis to make energy and food, so it will help them and then the animals that eat them. That in turn will cause more plants and stronger plants which will need more CO2 to stay alive therefore eventually causing a decrease in CO2.
More warming means more evaporation and condensation, therefore more rain and a more equal distribution of rain. Species lost is complete bullcrap b/c we dont know how many there are, and by law the National Wildlife Service has to put a selected number of animals on the Endangered Species list each year. Look it up, im not lying.
The biodiversity, ecosystems, and natural habitats of Australia are world renowned, yet potentially the most fragile of the systems that will be exposed to climate change. For example, the Great Barrier Reef, a UNCESCO World Heritage area, has experienced unprecedented rates of bleaching over the past two decades, and additional warming of only 1°C is anticipated to cause considerable losses or contractions of species associated with coral communities.[23]

The cited CSIRO report contains a table that describes the additional impact on ecosystems for rises in temperature.

As an example, the CSIRO predicts that the additional results in Australia of a temperature rise of between 2 and 3 degrees celsius will be:

* 97% of the Great Barrier Reef is bleached every year[24]
* 10–40% loss of core habitat for Victoria and montane tropical vertebrate species[25]
* 92% of butterfly species’ core habitat decreases[26]
* 98% decrease in Bowerbird habitat in N Australia[27]
* 80% loss of freshwater wetlands in Kakadu (30 cm sea level rise)[28]

Lower rises have other adverse results, higher rises have additional adverse results
