Have you heard of "Climate change" scientist Henrik Svensmark?
He thinks the sun is the cause. But all of you loyal members of the man-made global warming church please continue to send in your tithes to Generation Investment, Al Gore needs the money to finance his private jet and to pay for his utility bills for his 10,000 sq ft home.
Answer:
Amen there Brother. There is so much misinformation concerning global warming, and the libs are lineing up to pay homage to any nut who will tell them its all gloom and doom. They love to feel bad about how great our country is. I love this country, but I live in only an 1800 sf home and drive a 2001 Grand Am, I think I am doing enought. Maybe I need to buy some carbon credits from some rich energy hog.
Al Gore does not own a jet but he uses his rich friends jet all the time. Oh he pay the price of a regular air line ticket, to make him feel better when he talks to us little people.
It's an interesting idea, but still quite unformed and unquantified. Not even Svensmark himself is willing to say how much forcing results from this effect, if it is even real.
Meanwhile, Al Gore does not own a jet. But keep on lying, as it adds so much to your credibility.

Edit added 7-11-07: New study refutes cosmic ray hypothesis.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/62902...
It is a widely reported (but never noticed) fact that the temperature on Mars is increasing.
Yes, that is a fact.
It is also a fact that the much of the warming of the Earth in the 1900s happened BEFORE the rise of CO2. So it is like saying that cancer causes smoking.
Let's not forget, the ONLY scientists that can possibly know what the warming and cooling of the Earth is caused by are GEOLOGISTS. Climatologists and meteorologists cannot accurately predict weather patterns OR climate change. Case in point; the GW fanatics said in the 1980s that the end was near. It was not, and IS not.
Geologists are overwhelmingly critical of the theory of global warming caused by man, because the Earth has experienced ice ages and even warmer climates before.
We have had ice ages with greater amounts of carbon dioxide in the air as we do now. Carbon dioxide does not cause warming of the Earth, solar radiation does.
By the way, Al Gore's so-called carbon credits are being paid into a company he owns and profits from. It is also a private enterprise, which means he is NOT ACCOUNTABLE to anyone if his carbon credits do not affect the climate in any way. Not even the mighty government can step in and help you if you voluntarily choose to piss money away into carbon credits.

Why are you so obsessed with Al Gore?
Perhaps you didn't notice the very first sentence of the article:
"Most leading climate experts don’t agree with Henrik Svensmark"
That being said, the cosmic ray theory is the only plausible alternative explanation to the anthropogenic global warming theory. The CLOUD experiment will show if there's any merit to Svensmark's theory, but unfortunately won't produce results for many years.
In the meantime, it would be stupid of us to assume the best-case scenario - that Svensmark is correct - and dismiss the consensus among climate scientists that humans are the primary cause of the current global warming and that we have to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions ASAP. Particularly since reducing our dependence on foreign oil (which is a limited resource) is a beneficial move anyway.
So do you actually have a question? Or is this more of the same whiny little right-wing WIMPering? This is called FunQA.com, not inbred holier than thou whinefest.com I scanned your article, and it still seems irrelevant. Even IF his theories are correct, there is still too much room for man-made global warming as well. So the sun is acting a bit different... does that mean that man-made atmospheric pollutants are actually HELPING the problem? No, of course not, don't be ridiculous.
Get the hint? stop being ridiculous. Also stop throwing your money at the religious right cowards, you know the ones that are paying their moral bills with blood-oil money?
Next time, try actually posting a question here, or maybe do some decent research, you know, ANYTHING that does not involve the bible shoved up your brain hole.
Sure I've heard of him.
Here's a detailed refutation which shows why he's wrong, and why he really hasn't been able to convince other scientists:

Here's why askthepizzaguy is wrong. With data.
The historical fact that previously CO2 lagged temperature (which is not true this time, further proof that the present warming is caused by CO2):
http://www.realclimate.org/index.php?p=1...
Mars (from the NASA scientists that did the work on Mars):
http://www.nasa.gov/centers/ames/researc...
It's true that historically the Earth has been warmer. At that point the coastlines were very different and plants grew in different locations. Changing things around to deal with that would bankrupt even the richest country.
Finally, the scientific data clearly shows that, about 40 years ago, man took over control of climate change from natural factors like the Sun.

We need to give it back.
I 100% love askthepizzaguy's answer! I second and third and fourth is opinion and facts!! GO askthepizzaguy! Yay!!
And Thank you asker for bringing this to attention.
as soon as he can prove how the sun is causing warming on every other planet but the ones that are closest to it, then maybe I'll believe it.
Mars isn't "warming" it is a seasonal change. life as usual on Mars.
same with Venus.
My favorite line from the article:
"There is probably no greater scientific heresy today than questioning the warming role of CO2, especially in the wake of the report issued by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). "
Well <harumph harumph> and <pooh pooh> . Thinking that something 93 million miles away can possibly overide the effect of Bush and Big Oil. What nerve!
