Do "climate change" people get mad and upset because no hurricanes have hit us lately like they predicted?

Answer:
Hahaha I wondered that the other day! I guess Al Gore is going to have to find some other cause to tout.

I think that the live earth concert is even funnier. Lets get together and make music to save the earth. In the process, we will pollute the air with the big rigs it takes to move the stage sets, we will create mounds of trash by having tons of people here and we will fly in all kinds of artists on polluting planes from all ends of the globe.

It is all bullsh*t to me! I think that the climate saving sect of people are like everyone else, just finding something to cash in on by scaring people into parting with their money
Aren't you going to be late for your job at McDonald's? You better hurry.

Trevor don't waste your time trying to convince this guy. He doesn't understand what you're saying, It's science. You might as well be talking pig latin.

Hey crabby, this guy already made up his mind. He doesn't want to hear all that science gibberish.
The answer is that climate change is probably one of the reasons that there has been an upward trend in the number and intensity of hurricanes and other storms in recent decades.

However, climate always has been and always will be about long term trends over large areas. There have always been anomolies - periods of exceptionally hot, cold, dry, wet, calm, windy weather and in the larger scheme of things one or two years which go against the grain are an irrelevance.

The important thing is that in the last 30 years there has been an average increase of 80% in the number of hurricanes and an increase of 50% in intensity. Fortunately this year has been quiet so far and last year was also a quiet year but go further back and things were very different.

We know a lot about climate change but one of the areas which isn't clearly understood is the effect it has on storms. We would have expected to see some rise in the number and intensity of such events but not on the scale that has been witnessed. This suggests that there may well be other factors involved which we are only just begining to understand. Until we know what these other factors are we can't say with any real accuracy how climate change relates to changes in hurricane behaviour.

As for getting mad or upset - no, not in the slightest, it's the last thing I'd want.
The predictions about high hurricane activity are still in force--and aren't based on global warming/climate change anyway.

Which the fake 'skeptics" would know if they actually knew any science. They'd also know the possible link between hurricanes and global warming is only a hypothesis at this point--and no scientist has said oterwise.

Of course, since they're so ignorant they don't even know what a hypothesis is, tat's not surprising! lol
And Mother Nature is a mean be-och for playing such tricks on them.
Yes - you can bet it makes them mad, but they won't admit it. We'll see the evidence when/if a major hurricane makes landfall, because there will be numerous questions to Y!A asking something along the lines, "Isn't Hurricane X proof of global warming?" followed by the repressed glee of Alarmists giving a roundabout "Yes".

And since hurricanes were not reliably analyzed via satellite prior to 1970, any comparison of increased intensity to previous periods is bogus.
well as a sailor in the Caribbean I am real happy we haven't had any yet and considering we are 7 weeks into a season that lasts about 5 months I was wondering if you could re post this question maybe in Sept sometime ?
mad and upset ? no... happy hour ? yes
CCPs ('climate change people') don't get mad because there haven't been any hurricanes threatening the us lately. why would anyone be happy at potential loss of life and property due to a hurricane?

i can tell you're american because some places HAVE unfortunately been hit by strong cyclones recently. CCPs likely suffered losses too. do you really think they secretly rub their hands in glee as the storms approach because this will provide 'evidence' of global warming?

far from it: we're no happier about climate change than the rest of you non-CCPs are about denying it. we just realize that we can take steps to help diminish its effects. you can too if you wish.

a final piece of information for you... the difference between 'climate' and 'weather':
climate: the patterns of weather that occur over an extended period of time. weather: the conditions you are experiencing today. hope yours is sunny. peace.

trevor (above) nailed it.
No, I do not believe so.And if they do who are they to complain we are talking mother nature!
Haven't you heard? The reduction in the number of hurricanes is a sign of global warming. So is the increase in the number, increase in the intensity, decrease in the intensity, etc.

In other words, anything and everything is now a sign of runaway global warming.

Sheesh! I'd think we should all know this by now.
how can they possibly predict a whole season the weather man cant get right from one day to the next .....
