a quick and simple thing we can do is go to a store, buy an energy efficiant light bulb, and change the bulbs you use most in your house. it takes a Little adjustment-the light is brighter, but it is taking thousands of pollutants out of the planet.
Uhm.a thicker ozone layer increases global warming.
So you gotta choose - fry or bake!
PS - Each Compact Fluorescent Bulb has 5 milligrams of Mercury in them. If you drop and break one, you have created a Hazardous Material Spill..
We've pretty much taken care of the hole in the ozone layers by phasing out the production of clorofluorocarbons (CFCs).
For global warming people need to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by becoming more energy efficient. Do more walking/biking/public transport and less driving, get a more fuel efficient car, use CFLs, get EnergyStar appliances, make sure your house is well-insulated - stuff like that.
Also make sure you support politicians who make global warming a top priority, because we need our government to take action if we're going to reduce our emissions enough to avoid the worst effects of global warming.

its a bit misleading to combine the scare tactics of the late 70s and 80s'.. & the scare tactic of the 90s till today. do your research and know what your talking about before you try to debate a topic..
Ozone depletion is an entirely seperate thing--no relation to gloval warming. And you don't need to worry about it. The cemicals that caused the "hole in the ozone" were banned beginning in 1979. The ozone hole willbe with us for several more decades, simply because it takes that long for those chemicals to break down.
If you want to reduce global warming--first, support politicians whos actions (never mind what they say, look at what they DO in terms of voting, proposing laws,etc.) show them to be concerned about the environment.
Individuallly, take common sense steps to reduce your own energy consumption. I DON'T mean "do without." Do things like switch to energy efficient light bulbs--they will also save you money (they cut my electric bill about $10/month). When appliances wear out, replace them with energy-efficient mdodals. You might pay a little more--but you'll get that money back in lower utility bills. When it comes time to buy a new car, do the same--and they money you';ll save on gas will cover most, if not all, of the cost difference (and since many high-mileage cars are low in cost, you might actually pay less for that new car.).
If you own a home, invest in insulation--this increases the value of the house and pays for itself in lower utility costs. If you can make the investment, consider plannning on installing a solar enrgy system. These are stilll expensive--but with tax credits and such, will eventually pay for themselves. But, if you wait a few years, they will get cheaper.
And--think about this: not one of the things I mentioned- will lower your lifestyle one bit-and all of them together could cut your energy use by half--and while some may mean an up-front investmet, every single one will pay for itself--and most will actually save you money in the long run.
