If I were to ask Al Gor what makes this climate change any different.?

Than the climate change that was suposed to have happened millions of years ago that melted our believed to be ice covered planet, what do you think he would say?

Excuse me for using the thing between my ears, but this whole humans are killing the earth bit just doesn't add up. At the time of the Ice Age there were supposedly no humans-yes, that no cars or suvs. So why would the earth just melt down? Why would there be a climate change way back then?

Also, mars and other planets are experiecing the same type of heating the earth is, and yes, there are no people living there and yet they are warming.

I pray that you would really think about what all of this fuss is about, and analyze the facts.

I know alot of you will get angry for having the nerve to go against science, that is, the few scientists Al Gore will feature in his films.

Global Warming is Natural. Do you really think you can change the weather? You can barely predict it. Let earth do her thing.

Answer:
You are right...it is cyclical. Do humans have a measurable impact on this cycle? It is interesting that we supposedly were blotting out the sun with carbon monoxide and headed to an ice age in the 70s, and now we are heating the planet now. By the way, I find it VERY laughable that they talk about CO2 emissions, but cars emit much more CO than CO2. We breathe out CO2. Maybe all liberals should stop breathing for the cause.

Oh, and puedodharma, you are probably right. Al Gore's head is huge! His ego is even bigger, however his brain is idle.
right you are, this is just a weather pattern, Gore just wants to freak every one out and cause mass panic.
Yes, it is a natural occurance, but humans are accelerating the rate of greenhouse gases.

You are correct that global warming is natural, but what humans are doing, tearing down all the trees and putting all the crap in the air is causing a problem.

Even if it isn't true, it is very unhealthy for humans. You might as well force feed everybody McDonald's
Keeper just sits back and watches humanity destroy the world. Keeper enjoys the show...
There is no doubt that man is increasing the CO2.
There is a possibility that the increase may exaggerate the warming.

Al Gore makes the logic leap that it proves the earth is doomed if we do nothing.

He should go back to logic class.
You're an idiot if you don't think that we have anything to do with global warming. But at least you're not one of the nay-sayers who claim it does not exist.
And hey, didn't you hear about the $10,000 grant that the government is waving in the face of the scientific community for any studies supporting the 'fact' that global warming is not happening?

Wow, you really are in the dark.
And if you really did want to argue with Al Gore, well, you've got another thing coming. Because the thing between his ears is much larger than the thing between yours.
Warming happened in the middle ages. Mountain ice melted all over Europe and Asia, Crops grew in the far north in Europe where they had not been able to grow them before. This period lasted about fifty years and I'd say it was a good thing.
Ha ha. You crack me up. That thing between your ears forgot to remember that the world was not covered by ice. The average global temperature was only 5 degrees colder during the last great ice age than it is now. 5 degrees is not much. The earth has only risen by one degree in the last fifty years. No, not 50,000 years, 50 years. What will the other four degrees do to our climate?

That thing between your ears might be thinking about the rise in temperature that naturally occurs after volcanic activity. Except this latest rise in temperature is not following any volcanic activity. It is trailing the industrial revolution.

Is that thing between your ears telling you that the dust on Mars is the same as greenhouse gases on Earth?

Put that thing between your ears to work with those things at the front of your face and read a bit yourself.
I don't care what Al Gore would say.

What scientists would say is that the current warming is accelerating very fast, and natural causes cannot account for this acceleration:

or if you don't like Wikipedia, try page 9 of this paper. It show the same thing.

Nobody claims that humans are the only cause of global warming. There are natural causes which altered the global climate in the past. Now humans are emitting vast amounts of CO2 - that's what's different now.

Mars is not experiencing the same kind of warming. Parts are warming and parts are cooling.

"It's late spring at the south pole of Mars," says planetary scientist Dave Smith of the Goddard Space Flight Center. "The polar cap is receding because the springtime sun is shining on it."

"Remember, though," adds Smith, "there are two polar caps on Mars--north and south. While the south polar cap is vaporizing the north polar cap is growing. It's a balancing act."

You need to follow your own advice and analyze the facts. Don't just listen to right-wing talk radio. Do some research on the issue.
Read this:
This is a common error the warming and cooling cycles of the planet are related to the sun's out put cycles and there is also some evident that a meteor may have like start the last ice age. The different is that the warming period took thousand of years, or a couple of decades. Have been having a minor decrease in solar energy this thought to be part of the cooling cycle of our sun but here on the planet things are hotter, so what is different now from the last time this happened? The answer should come to you pretty quickly. Also we humans will not destroy the world there will always be life of some kind here it just may not be us. That is what we have to worry about.
In my viewpoint, global warming have been triggered since prehistoric-era. After Earth was formed, there is no water, land, its all molten and Earth wasn't suitable for life. As it cools down toward 2,000 degree mark, water begins to appear, but global warming have been still there for millions of years, thus not much impact the planet. After water appeared, land appears too. Lifeforms have appeared that started with algae, the very first simple plant. For millions of years, dinosaurs ruled the Earth, thus global warming still have impact the planet due to all those volcanic activities. As a mystery related to the disappearance of dinosaurs, which most scientist says asteroid hits the planet caused mass extinction, that's when human is still around (first appeared in the year of 50,000 BC or earlier). After dinosaur's wipe-out, Great Ice Age began (it did had earlier ice ages before dinosaur's wipe-outs), and it took a massive 5 million years before the ice retreated. After it retreated, humans began doing agriculture, which began the increase of global warming, but global warming have been existed long before humans have done agriculturing which we call it Agriculturical Revolution.

After those, we enter Industrial Revolution, which sends billions of cubic of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, which trigger higher global warming that has tons of effects on marine life, wildlife, and human civilization.

So far, people have ignored the environment impact because most of these people have focused on money. Money have been blocking us from cleaning up the environment. The only way to reduce it is to stop relying on money and begin cleaning the environment, which have serious impact on the government's economy to keep the government running. Politicians have forced people to ignore the environment and focus on the money.

That's what gives us global warming.
Bravo, Gabbi, it sounds like you have a strong intuition.

Continue to do your best at helping the environment and don't let yourself get to distracted by these clowns.

And puedodharma:

"if you really did want to argue with Al Gore, well, you've got another thing coming. Because the thing between his ears is much larger than the thing between yours."

Yes, but the thing between Gabbi's ears is a brain, while Gore's is a big steaming pile of dog squirt.
Using your brain? Sorry, but that's exactly what you are not doing. First, Al Gore has nothing to do with it--he's an articulate spokesman, but its the science he reports on that matters, not him.

As for global warming being "natural, it is not (except for a small part--about 15%). It is caused by the human technology all around us.

YOur "argument" is a logical fallacy. It is the logical equivalent of claiming that, because some forest fires are due to natural causes like lightening, a forest fire is never caused by careless campers.

Do I get angry at your nonsense? Yes. Not because you will make any differnence--you won't. All the false propaganda in the world will not change scientific facts one iota. But people like you deliberately confuse and mislead our young people--and I am a teacher. When I see people do that, it makes me very angry indeed. That's the only reason I bother to acknowledge you exist, much less take time to answer.
