Real or not, the message is that we all need to change our lifestyles if we want to breath better air, drink cleaner water, and eat fresh healthy foods.

Quite frankly, there is no way to know right now whether "Global Warming" is a man made effect, or whether it is simply another natural climate change for the planet, there have been many in the past.
I am not saying that pollution isn't a problem, or that we shouldn't try to fix things... Just that this small part of it may not be our fault, and until we know otherwise, Al Gore needs to shut the hell up about things he doesn't understand.
Global warming is real but the average public is not responsible for it. So, I don't see why people who caused the trouble in the first place can't afford to clean up the mess they created.

This set to rise to 2 or maybe 2.5 cb miles per annum in 10 years time. So, in round figures, we shall use some 20 cb miles of oil in the next ten years. There are estimated to 30 cb miles of oil left on the planet..work it out for yourself.

Stop listening to the talking heads and educate yourself. Spend a day in the library or online, googling "pollution" "toxic waste" "mercury build-up" "heavy metals in water" "poisons in food" "contaminated soil" "acid rain" or any number of other subjects you'll find while researching this topic.

i live in Cairo, Egypt, and here we suffer a lot from the exhausts of millionaires factories. the average tempratere increased by 3-5 C this summer.

let us take an example. I live in Georgia and have been traveling to Maine at least twice a year for the past 8-9 years. In the winter for the first 6-7 years the ice started to set out on the water in december or so. These past few years it has been setting out later and later. About a year or so the ice set out, but it wasn't even thick enough to walk on. Therefore the temeratures apparently ARE rising. Winter's getting milder.
So global warming is apparent, BUT money-hungry bastards are taking advantage of it.
Global warming is for real but is a naturally occurring phenomenon, which means that there is absolutely nothing we can do to prevent it happening. What we are doing is speeding the process up by all the co2 that we are pumping into the atmosphere. However, unless the big corporations and rock stars who have an unbelievably high carbon footprint do something about it, there is very little we can do. Raising money certainly isn't going to solve the problem.

If this were a true crisis, don't you think all of these greenies would be living a different lifestyle? Flying around the globe in private jets, putting on mega-concerts, consuming more resources in a weekend than I will in a lifetime, aren't the signs of someone that truly believes this is a crisis.
Give you an example - a friend of my went through a bout with skin cancer. Thankfully, he's healthy today, but because of this life-altering crisis, he won't go out in the sun and he tells everyone to do the same.
This is exactly what Al Gore should be doing if this was truly a crisis. He should be dumping his millions into solving this problem. Instead, he's making billions on this fear-mongering...

- Scientists can demonstrate that in the past, the Earth has been much warmer than it is today, so why is it a problem now?
- Why is a warmer planet a bad thing? Maybe we'll all be better off with a warmer planet with more inhabitable space, such as northern Canada?
- Since we can't predict the weather for next week, why do you think we can predict the weather in a hundred years?

I think it's a bit of both. We are damaging the environment , but big business is taking advantage by making us think they are going green to buy their products.
Fact is that the liquid fossil energies become to be rare. So we must try to spare fuel and to look for other energies, which are not too expensive.
Fact is too that the most performing computers are still unable to calculate what is the real effect of the present worldwide emission of CO2 on global warming .
So the opinions of the scientists are very divergent about the consequences of CO2.
Another fact is that the preachers of coming catastrophes and disasters due to CO2 earn a lot of money. Al GORE gets 150.000 dollars for every conference and has earned till now 50 million dollars for his film. The lobbies for alternative energies have already earned at the money markets enormous amounts of money and get richer and richer.
I think that we must reduce our consummation of fossil energy anyway. Perhaps is it necessary to tell people terrific stories about coming catastrophes to persuade them to spare fuel and to use, if possible, more and more clean alternative energies.

Here...check out this website that's run by some really good scientists from Harvard-Smithsonian and professors from other prestigious institutes all over North America, www.friendsofscience.org. They really put up convincing and (reluctantly) UN Climate Report backed data that shows that Global Warming is natural and normal. They totally convince me that the cause of this natural temperature flucuation is the most simple source, the sun. For instance, for centuries, the sun has always intensified and weakened its radiation upon the earth, thus causing temperatures to change from century to century. During the 1400's, the Medieval Warming period took place, when temperatures were 3-4 degrees warmer than they are today! And after that during the 1700-1800's, we went through a little known Little Ice Age, when the temperatures dropped 1-2 degrees. Right now, we're only coming out of an ice age, so no wonder our temperatures are higher than they were 100-200 years ago. Which explains why they're still completely normal. And besides, in the sixties, when industry was reaching a peak, and carbon emissions were at an all time high, the temperature actually dropped! Scientists actually thought that we were going to go through another ice age. Yet, during the same time, the sun's rays weakened, thus proving that it was in direct correlation to the temperatures here on earth. So, to conclude, global warming isn't man-made, it's completely natural, caused by the sun.
And look at Al Gore and his Live Earth concerts. Are they helping with this supposed 'global warming'?
