Solar panels need light to work but they dont like heat and become less efficient. Is this true?

Answer:
Depends what type of solar panel you are talking about. The electronic ones do not like too much heat as in the long term this can damage the materials used to make electricity and the panel itself - particularly so with the cheap ones. However, those panels just designed to heat water have no trouble with heat as this is what they are designed for.
Not particularly. Keep in mind, this technologywas originally developed largely for space--where the panels routinely work for years in temperatures of 250 F.

But--naturally, any system is affected by stresses--temperature, humidity, etc. etc. Solar panels are long-term reliable. But they don't last forever, anymore thanany other technology. Solar panels aren't particularly vlnerable to heat, though.
