I sometimes wonder by watching that movie wether we the humans can be seen as the Maya,problems like Global Warming,pollution;ect as our Mathusian collapse,while the Spainards seen atthe end of the film as alien invaders from another world. Couls that end being the human race soon?

I thought the point to the Spainards coming at the end is that they were going to wipe out the brutal culture of the myans.

The only comparison I see is the Spaniards with Manifest Destiny and colonialism. And that is indicative of countries, not races.
