Can we stop global warming?

I have seen Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth... It really takes unity to stop Global Warming.

Answer:
No, you can not stop a fictitious myth that does not exist, which is propagated by an insane liberal democrat who claims he created the Internet.

Oh and BTW the planet has been here for billions of years and managed to survive, life intact, WTF makes you think humans could damage or kill it?
sorry
Starting with the truth would help! Here is an even better movie it has many of the scientists who have their names on the ipcc but actually dropped out and requested their names be removed due to the false information it shares as truth! Check it out and really pay attention it's 73 minutes long and loaded with the truth about the whole matter!

If we try we could stop it. but its going to be hard. since this means changing people habits and you know habits aren't easy to change and it would also be more expensive for companies to be green rather than do what their doing now. Also some people believe global warming is a scam made up by the government in order to get them to give up more dough and I watched an epsiode once on CNN thats says global warming is a religious issue. (i wondered about that)
but we can't stop global warming unless we all take small steps in improving our habits and its most likely not going to happening until theirs a huge wake up call.
Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" should be re-titled "An Irresponsible Half-Truth" (and we all know a half-truth is a lie) because it is frought with junk science and misinformation. There is a mountain of scientifically verified evidence to DISPROVE global warming. The problem is the science is up for sale to the highest bidder. Environmental action groups are funding the research that supposedly proves global warming, and industrialists are funding the research that supposedly disproves global warming. As a result, we really don't know if global warming is happening or not. But let's say for the sake of argument that it is happening. The environmentalists who say they have the solutions really don't. At best, they have semi-educated guesses. So even if global warming is happening, there is no way to tell if it can be stopped. Some scientists believe that global warming is happening, but it's a natural cycle of the planet. If that's the case, there is nothing we can do about it.

BOTTOM LINE: Don't believe anything Al Gore says. He's not an expert, he has a definite agenda, and he's one of the foulest hypocrites on the planet. His home in Tennessee uses over 20 times more electricity than the average home and it's nowhere near as environmentally friendly as he claims. By contrast, the Bush ranch in Texas is VERY environmentally friendly. How's that for an inconvenient truth?
I guess we can't stop it because developing countries like China and India are setting up more & more factories & industries. Nowadays the Chinese people are sick & tired with pollution. If u go to Hong-kong or Shanghai then u won't be able to breathe properly even if u watch the TV u will see the atmosphere is covered with thich smoke. Here in India most of the people don't even know what GW is all about. Most surprisingly a developed country like the US is not at all bothered to reduce GW.

Still we have got roughly about 8 years to stop Global warming. So try & take as many steps as possible to reduce GW.
We can't stop it altoether - it's happening anyway. The Earth has been pleasantly static for 500 years, but geologists knew there could be massive eruptions and major changes, just like the past.

Before the war, science teachers told us that there would be a change in the Earth's climate, but we didn't know when, but it was not 'If', but 'When'. What we are being urged to do now, is prevent it from being worse than it would be, if we didn't.
Global Warming is a political fraise that is more correctly called the Green House Effect. It is a theory based on heat retention due to water vapor in the atmosphere. It is a natural phenomenon controlled by cosmic rays from outer space which in turn is controlled by solar activities (sun spots). Man's effect on it is so negligible that it is laughable that any one would be concerned. We should take care of our environment for legitimate reasons but to get swallowed up in a campaign of lies will only get you to support things that are purely political and have nothing to do with the environment. The goal of the propaganda is to frighten you and keep you misinformed so as to get you to vote for candidates that in the end will not be beneficial for you or this country.

It is prety easy to spot this type of political tactic after you get a little informed about it. Read some things on Hitler and his politics. Also the tactics of Stalin and the Soviet Union.
The swindle movie is junk.

It is simply a political statement which distorts science. The director has a history of putting out misleading stuff. In 1997 he made a series for Channel 4 called “Against Nature”, which compared environmentalists with Nazis. Channel 4 had to apologise for the misleading stuff in that one. The present movie is also a distortion of the science. More here:

"A Channel 4 documentary claimed that climate change was a conspiratorial lie. But an analysis of the evidence it used shows the film was riddled with distortions and errors."

Gore's movie may be a little over dramatic, but it has the basic science right. This movie does not.

Channel 4 itself undercuts the movie in a funny way. If you go to their website on the movie you find links to real global warming information. They also have a way to "Ask the Expert" about global warming. The questions go to a respected mainstream scientist who supports (mostly) human responsibility for global warming.

So, why did Channel 4 broadcast it?

"The science might be bunkum, the research discredited. But all that counts for Channel 4 is generating controversy."

Britain has an idea http://www.zerocarbonbritain.com/... Zero carbon emmissions in 20 years! But it will take a lot of unity and commitment
We probably can, we need a lot more people to help, even more than North America combined with South America.
