Can you recycle all types of plastic bottles or do they have to have the recycle sign?

Answer:
All plastic bottles can not be recycled . . . .
anything can be recycled but the question is "is it safe to do so? Hence, the recycle symbol helps define that.

Start with the first link below and you will know everything you need to know

The universally recognized recycling symbol (♲ or U+2672 in Unicode) with three chasing arrows is a Möbius strip or unending loop.
My local city's recycling program says that you have to be certain any plastic has the recycle symbol.
You can probably place them in recycle, if your town allows all of the types, but plastic no. 7 cannot be actually recycled.
We are allowed to recycle all plastic so long as it is not scrunchy. ie plasic bags
in my town they take any plastic
It depends on the locality, but most recycling programs only recycle plastic bottles, not plastic tubs. It's important to know that the truck will take away anything you put in the bin, even if it means that you are contaminating their recyclables stream with garbage. It's also important to understand that recycling plastic, while better than landfilling it, is much worse than simply reducing the amount of waste you produce. REDUCE your waste, REUSE what you can, and RECYCLE as a last resort. Plastic collected by recycling programs isn't recycled back into new 2L bottles; it typically becomes plastic lumber, carpet, and other products that can be made from low-grade plastic.
usually you can unless chemicals were in the container, than you have to take them to a special recycling center in your area
i can only recycle plastic with a 1 or a 2. so always checking the containers before i toss it into my bin.
each number on a plastic container corresponds with the specific type of plastic used to make the product. This is important, because different plastics require different temperatures to melt down for reprocessing. Some plastics, such as plastic #6, is a mix of a bunch of plastics, and so it requires quite an expensive facility to process it back into reusable plastic containers. Therefore, most cities can't actually recycle plastic number 6 because they don't have the facility, even though the number 6 denotes that it is a container that can be recycled. That said, each city can recycle only what it's infrastructure can process, so each city varries in it's ability significantly. Your best bet for an accurate response regarding what plastics you can recycle can only be answered by the city you inhabit. There should be a phone number on your recycling box - try it out :)
