Isn't there supposed to be a huge meteor hitting the earth soon?
My teacher in high school told me that one was on track, but this was 6 years ago. Any ideas of where such a meteor is located?

I read something earlier today about an asteroid which was, at one point, thought to be on track to hit earth; however, it was later determined that it was not going to hit earth after all. I looked and unfortunately I cannot find the URL of where I read that... however, it might have been the reason for what your teacher said.
