I have an enviromentally friendly idea for the workplace?
Also fax cover pages which are just as bad.
Will you join with me on this ?
And yes I am being serious.
Answer:
I whole heartedly agree, we have begun re cycling envelopes where ever possible with white sticky labels on top of previous addresses, to be used for INTERNAL post of course.
We have stopped buying note pads for the phone to, we now use old out of date stationary, stapled for this purpose, providing it holds not threat to confidentiality, it works well !
Hear Hear!!
comp slips? Do people still use those things? So annoying!
I'll join you!
Absolutely well done my son!
Come to think of it, there could be many thousand other things we do which could be declared unnecessary, wasteful etc., but in my view, one that would really have an impact is to let every single human being plant a tree or support its planting elsewhere once every year. If all the estimated 6 billion people were to do this every year, there may not be the need for us to lead too frugal lives and we could still indulge in such trivialities as passing complimentary cards around.
Absolutely right .. and what about printing on the back of scrap paper for drafts etc.?
gosh...I agree with this, and those pamphlets/flyers! Do we really need to make millions of them? (and I work at the EPA)
Seriously... It sounds like a stupid idea that you've given, but when you think about it, it's the small changes that we make that all compound to add up to big differences.
On the compliment slips, though, I'm pretty sure that most of those are the same ones that've been sitting there for years. I've never seen people seriously filling them out and only filled them out as jokes as a kid myself.
This is one of those things that is just a good step towards progressing not only towards being more environmentally friendly, but to just saving from such waste. Money can also be saved which is a plus to us as individuals and/or businesses.
