As the temperature rises can we use building techniques from Saudi Arabia?
Underground tunnels can cool a building when there is a draft created by putting slits in the upper part of the wall areas. Does anyone know more about how this might help in climates where there is presently snow?
Answer:
well first of all i don't think the heat is so bad that we have to build underground tunnels.I do have to say that in the summer time it is a lot cooler in a basement. which is the only thing i can compare it to. i don't think it could replace central air if that's what your thinking. second i live in Wisconsin so I'm familiar with cold temps. and snow. and its the same temp. in the basement as the rest of the house grant u i do have heat down there so i cant be 100% sure. but still i don't think it would make enough a difference to build tunnels. I'm not a master on this subject but from my experience i think its a off the wall idea.
It is called convection heating and can be designed into a central fireplace with floor vents to help keep the floor warm.I am not sure about praying with my butt in the air though I am willing to give it a try
