Why is it that man is not using its natural resources?
Answer:
Men are utilizing as many natural resources as technology allows them, at a speed which causes them to be depleted in a short time.
People are constant at mining, petroleum extraction, fishing, and forestry.
Natural resources are often classified into renewable and non-renewable resources. Renewable resources are generally living resources (fish, coffee, and forests, for example), which can restock (renew) themselves if they are not overharvested. Renewable resources can restock themselves and be used indefinitely if they are used sustainably. Once renewable resources are consumed at a rate that exceeds their natural rate of replacement, the standing stock will diminish and eventually run out. The rate of sustainable use of a renewable resource is determined by the replacement rate and amount of standing stock of that particular resource. However, the rate at which humans are utilizing those resources is often alarming.
Since when has man not??
Natural resources are items found in nature and man-made resources come from nature, but it takes people to work to use them. For example, rivers, trees, and oceans are natural resources. Are we not using rivers and oceans to travel and eating the sea creatures as well as fish from rivers? Also trees are used everyday to build houses, furniture, make paper products, and clothing. Most everything we eat is a natural resource. Man made products are from natural resources such as clothing is made from cotton or silk (which are items found in nature), cars are made from steel (which is processed iron), and most homes are made with some wood. Although natural resources and man-made resources are two separate kinds of resources, the man-made resources are dependent upon the natural resources. I feel that man is using its natural resources.
