What do you think of his statement,"It's the sun, stupid."?
Answer:
That is what these scientist think. The theory is not so much solar irradiance but, solar winds deflecting cosmic rays from deep space. The cosmic rays help seed clouds. When the solar winds are strong, fewer clouds are available to reflect sun light.
Its very provocative since everybody knows that the sun has absolutely no effect on the temperature of the earth, and that its totally controlled by capitalistic human activities.
The nitwits who keep yapping that "the sun causes globalwarming" are only showing their ignorance.
Years ago, when scientists began to realize that global warming was occurring, one of the hypotheses that was investigated was that it might be due to variation in solar output. That's an obvious thing to check--and they did. Turned out that minor variations in solar output don't account for the warming observed.
End o fstory.
it is the sun
We have no control over mother nature. If you think we do ask those people in the tsunami's and earthquakes and hurricanes its mother nature way of correcting its self..
This statement is not so stupid. Eventually
the sun will decide the planet's fate, not
some un-recycled beer can thrown on the
side of the road.
Well if your referring to the "sun caused global warming" theory, the fact is the sun's temperature has been decreasing steadily, every year since the early 80's.
I think he has an affiliation bias with corporate interests that don't want to face any governmental pollution and/or emission regulations.
yea, who would ever think that the sun has anything to do with temperatures.
The sun only provides light. We get warmth from the Earth's core.
I second crabby's sentiments. The sun is only directly responsible for 5-10% of the recent warming. It's indirectly responsible for virtually all of the warming, of course, but that's rather irrelevant.
The sun may be the source of the energy, but it does not convert the solar energy to heat energy and obviously has no effect on the retention of heat in the atmosphere.
Whoever said the statement is the stupid one.
Its the wrong answer just like its the ecconomy stupid is the wrong answer, but it does get a lot of mileage don't you think?
that was Gores response to a reporter's question."Mr.Gore how did you get such a bad sunburn ?"
it's the cop out answer of major ignoramuses... LOL
it doesn't add up or make any since to me sorry
there really isn;t a much better response when you're dealing with libs.
Very insightful.
It's stupid, son.
It doesn't cover all the bases, but ultimately, it is true.
I think who ever said it had a good reason.
I don't buy it. There is to much overwhelming evidence that the human population is the major factor. Here is one factor that is not usually figured in but is yet a major player in global warming.
The raising of cattle for beef consumption causes more global warming than all of the cars exhaust on this planet. It starts with thousands of sq. miles of tropical rainforest being cut down and burned to raise much of the cattle. Then the amount of methane gas(a global warming gas) that is expelled by cattle. 100 million tons of methane gas a year is expelled by cattle just in the U.S. alone. The amount of water to raise these cattle is beyond belief also. It takes about 20 acres of land a year to supply the protein a person needs by eating beef and over 2500 gallons of water. For a vegetarian it takes 1 acre of land to supply the protein they need for one year and about 40 gallons of water. Stop eating beef and you will be doing more to stop global warming than many other opitions.
