No one wants to do that and thats why there is so much noise. It is the reason very few here allow e-mail to be sent to them.
I think of the "noise" in the abstract sense rather than the physical sense. Yes, we are bombarded with literally thousands of commercial and extraneous messages every day (ads, logos, junk mail, spam, etc.)
The solution is to reduce the "signal to noise ratio". *Focus* on the communications that are important to you. You can ignore the trivial and annoying messages.
But an important trick is to be always open to the important messages from unfamiliar channels. Stop and smell the roses, hear the message in a child's laughter, and be open to the communication coming from the people you love and who love you.
