Bro, you are compassionate and empathetic. Of course it's normal to feel this way. Humans have caused havoc since the begning of time. I don't know why - is it primal? Maybe.
Nope. I can't be blamed for what I am anymore than anything or anyone else can. Yeah, we humans are stupid and we're going to wreck the planet and eradicate ourselves, it can't be helped. But at least I don't have to take part in it firsthand and I don't have to like it.
All the time...I think humans are pathetic...me included.
However, I try the best I can to not waste and to live cleaner. This has NOTHING to do with God...I just want to be a better person.

Thats certainly the entire point of liberalism and its offspring environmentalism; first to create guilt over every thing America has done, and in the latter case guilty for everything humans do which now includes exhaling of CO2 in order to live.
I feel guilty at times. For being wasteful, careless, and vain. Not necessarily for being human though. What makes me feel guilty is that there are so many ways to prevent these economic crisis.
