What does keeping my light on all day do to the envirment? what diffrence would it make if i shut off my light

or didn't leave my water running?
what does it do to the enviremnt?

Answer:
Leaving a light on uses electricity which in many cases is produced at power stations which use fossil fuels such as coal, gas and oil to drive thr turbines that generate the electricity. Power generation is the biggest single contributor to the emission of greenhouse gases and accounts for just under one quarter of all such emissions.

Similarly, leaving water running also uses power. In many cases water reaches your house by being pumpued through a network of underground pipes, these pumps use large amounts of electricity. Water treatment plants also use large amounts of electricity and chemicals in order to treat water so that it is fit for human consumption.

There are many detrimental side effects. The more electricity and water you use the more raw materials need to be extracted, this means quarrying, mining, oil and gas extraction etc. Many of these resources are finite and will run out one day, it makes sense to conserve them where possible.

There are also many by products from the chemical and industrial processes involved, some of these byproducts can be used in other industries but there is much pollution that can't be reused. These pollutants include many chemicals and large amounts of greenhouse gases which contribute to global warming and climate change.

Unless you obtain your water from a natural spring and your electricity from renewable sources such as wind, wave or nuclear power then it's a case of the more you use the greater the environmental impact.
Lights use electricity which is generated by the burning of fuel which puts pollution into the air. Not only that, it increases your electric bill. So it is bad for the environment and your wallet to leave lights on when you don't need to.
Keeping your lights on will increase your electric bill by about $1/month. The minuscule amount of CO2 that is created to generate the power for this light is the same as a couple of exhaled breaths.
