The scenic beauty of Fort Worth, Austin, Oklahoma City?

Could you please tell me which of these three cities is the most beautiful when it comes to having the most nice green lawns, wonderful landscaping, flowers, and trees? I reeeeeeally would appreciate your opinions. Thanks.

Answer:
If you're looking for green lawns you probably shouldn't be looking at any of these three cities. They have their native beauty and appreciating that is one thing, but appreciating a golf course green as a front yard is another. Summers are extreme and it takes lots of water to keep yards and blooming flowers lush. As is true with any city, sticking to native plants for landscaping is always beneficial for upkeep and the environment.

Downtown Oklahoma City has under-gone a tremendous renovation/rehab in the last 10 or so years and downtown, known as "Bricktown" is wonderful. A canal winds through downtown with flatboat tours. Restored red-brick buildings (hence the Bricktown name) house restaurants, clubs and hotels. Theres even a microbrewer. Every time I go back there is something new.

Another wonderful thing about Oklahoma City is the outlying areas. Oklahoma is really a convergence of plains, bluffs/hills, "green country" with lots of trees and waterways, prairies, and more arid environments. Oklahoma City sits right in the middle of all this. You don't have to go far in any direction of Oklahoma City to experience a different environment.

All three cities are beautiful and the annual temperature is something to consider. You have harsher winters in Oklahoma City with freezing rain turning the city into a giant outdoor ice-skating rink a few times a winter. That is much less frequent in Austin or Fort Worth. Summers are pretty similar, though the highs are higher in Austin and Fort Worth.
Ft Worth is beautiful well most parts downtown needs help but always has. They have a wonderful botanical garden and people pay about 2 grand just for the deposit and to be put on the waiting list to have their wedding there. In May/June their are bluebonnets growing on the side of the highway. Parts of downtown are even pretty where they have the Tandy center there is a huge angel coming out of the side of one building. It is truly a wonderful place. Now if nature is what interest you Northern Texas you can't beat it. We live in a small town called Pampa near Amarillo. We have 41 parks and the canyons out side of town are really gorgeous.
I would look at these cities with Yahoo maps, satellite view for some hints. You'll notice that OKC is right on the edge of the prairie, but thats not to say people don't water their lawns and gardens down at ground level.
I don't know what city is the most beautiful, but, I do know that none of them should be. They are all located in areas where lush vegetation is not natural. If any of these places have lush lawns and trees they have to use an inordinate amount of water and chemical fertilizers, this is especially harmful in areas where water resources are already stressed. Instead of aesthetics you should be more concerned with environmental impacts (at least when posting in the environmental category).
