If we are really serious about global warming shouldn't Drive thru's and street lights be the 1st to go.
Answer:
Point well taken. Street lights are a safety issue, but don't know why they couldn't be converted to solar power.
Why don't you go move to a third world country since that is what you promote. I suspect you drive, you eat groceries, you have electricity. You go live somewhere that doesn't have those things and come back and report to us how you liked it.
noooooooooooooooooooooo!
Solar scientists say that by 2020 the sun will be into its weakest solar cycle (aka. It won't be so darn hot ... and there is nothing man can do to stop it!)

You're the *, you think you're entitled to dictate other people's lifestyles - - if people are in a hurry let them go through the drive thru.
Look at this "1st to go" you sound like Hitler - do you have a list of what else "must go?"
Why do that when we already have car's that can take care of that? When the car rolls to a stop, the engine shuts down and then starts as soon as the gas pedal is pressed (and/or the brake pedal released). This feature has been employed on many large and/or performance vehicles to meet EPA standards since the late 70s or 80s.
Drive thru's and street lights are only a small part of the "idle" waste.
I agree with you on the drive-throughs, for so many reasons. But I think street lights are necessary.
Bumper Cars weeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
