I have and just thought I would share the steps I have taken. Every check I invest in some type of survival gear. I have my evacuation routes planned. You should also know where the underground shelter is. It can be anywhere, but deep caves that recycle air through natural rock - sediment filtration is best.

Well thats all good and well. but kiddo there wont be anyone left if it all goes to hell anyway, so why not live each day, enjoy your family and friends, because you wont be among the ones that are left.

Underground shelter? I thought the world was going to flood, chicken little said they sky was falling..What good is it going to do you to go underground?

I applaud your preparedness. I see nothing wrong with practicing the Boy Scout motto. Just ask the people in New Orleans whether or not they should have had at least a few weeks of supplies.

I try but not as good as yourself.

I have about 3 months of canned food I rotate out every year and about a months worth of water I rotate of every 6 months.

Also I have 100 of the masks for the bird flu.

I have a standard first aid kit.

I need to get a gun. I live in the country and you'd think I'd be loaded (excuse the pun) but all I got is a BB gun and a pellet rifle.

I plan to make a few more purchases in the near future. I like the water filtration unit. When it rains I get this 20x10 pond in my yard in a low spot. So that unit would be perfect.

I am canning everything I can get my hands on. I made an extra large garden this year. I also have my own shelter, water, clothing, medication, ammo etc. at the ready. I pray I never need them, but am afraid we all will. Between nuclear, terrorist or natural disasters we are almost sure to be hit.
