How should I recycle my empty Ink Jet Cartridge?
Answer:
You can recycle it at your local office supply store - Staples, Office Depot, Office Max.
FYI - you can also recycle dead power tool rechargeable batteries at Lowe's and Home Depot. Sears may do it as well.
Thanks!
You can take them to your local Office Max or Office depot.
Call the main office of your local school district. Sometimes schools turn them for either a discount or a small donation
If you have a neighborhood Walgreens, they give you 10 free digital prints to take your empty cartridge off your hands.

Staples will take them, and give you a few bucks twords new cartridges, I think most of the office supply places have recycling, and if they are HP you can go on their web site and request prepaid mailers. Hope that helps!
here are a couple ways
1.put it in a ziploc bag with a damp piece of paper towel(so the heads don't dry out) and take it to a place that will refill it.
2. take it in to Staples they have an international program with schools to recycle them Staples gives local schools proceed cheques for the ones collected all the school has to do is register to be on the list. (ask for a list not all catridges are accepted)
The easiest way to recycle an old cartridge is to take it with you when you buy the new one. Staples, office max, and office depot all proved envelopes (postage prepaid) for you to send your old cartridges in. Some places even have large bins to place them in. Next time, take your old one with you, not only will it help you know what size to purchase, but you can also leave the old one at the store.
Uhm I believe business depot(might be office depot), if they are in your area, accept inkjet cartridges for recycling. You can also buy ones that have been reused. It goes back to the manufacturer I believe, gets cleaned and refilled. If not then they are recycled.
But never ever throw electronics in the garbage, they leech poison chemicals out. If you are unable to go to a business that can recycle them keep them in a spot in your house and when you have a number of them take them to your local electronics disposal depot(you should also do this with batteries, but they go to a different depot, check your garbage calendar or call your city hall or check it out online).
Take them to office depot. They have an ink filler there.

Good afternoon, our local elementary school, is doing an ink cartridge campaign, all you do is simply take your used ink cartridges to Atkins Elementary school, and drop them off at the office. They will be recycled, plus our school earns money for all old cell phones and ink cartridges donated. I hope this helps you in your recycling endeavor.

look at the makers manual or go to the site of the printer and there should be steps on what to do, or call up the recycling company near you and they should send a specialist to dispose of it.

I send mine to a company in CA. They give $1.00 per cartridge to an organization of my choice. I chose the homeless shelter. Call this # and they will send you postage-paid, self- addressed plastic envelopes/bags to return the cartridges in.

I have my ink jet cartridges refilled at Walgreens on 17th St. at 36th St. It only costs $10.00 for black and $15.00 for color and only takes about 30 minutes. I am told that the Walgreens at 8th Street also has a machine that does it too.
