Yes flies do have eyes. For example lets Take the normal fruit fly or Drosophila melanogaster. These have compartmented eyes. Their eye structure resembles that of a Honey Comb. Its Like seeing you in say...for example 35 compartments at the same time through a pair of eyes that makes 35x2=70. A seventy you at the same time.
You cant swat a fly that easily because each compartment level can see different layers since that eye extends almost to the back of it's head it is very impossible to swat it. Because it can see its back, front, and down at the same time.
If you have severe problems id suggest you use bugs spray but be careful it is injurious to your lungs.
I think that although flies have eyes it is the change in air movement alerts them to "trouble" when you try to swat them.
They have wonderfully lots of eyes in fact, they not only can see the newspaper coming, but they use the SLIP STREAM of air from the newspaper to fly away on.
Use a fly swat - works wonderfully, also it don't choke or mess your lungs up as much as fly spray.

they have compound eyes, i think, and see up, down and sideways, giving them time 2 react. their eyes are massive compared to how normal eyes are.
to kill a fly, creep up on it slowly, then swat it wen u r close enough
sumtimes it doesnt work, but keep at it
or buy one of those sticky tape things with sugar syrup on it. when the fly comes to eat it gets stuck. haha. then u can throw it in the bin.
im not the only one who hates flies, am i?
