Pro or Anti vivisection?

Who do you pitch for? And why?

Answer:
Human civilization has come of age enough for certain practices to be outlawed as part of our entry into the 21st century, which should be celebrated the world over as the "century of global enlightenment". Some of the practices to be made history should include: capital punishment, encroachment on and abuse of the rights of animals, and many other practices which degrade the sanctity of life in general. This planet was not created just "for the whims and caprices" of man alone, and the earlier we realized this, the better for our survival.
Absolutely AGAINST vivisection, thanks to my aunt. My aunt is a big animal rights activist. When I was younger, she took me to UW-Madison for a vivisection protest (outside of the college). At that time, I was shown many many cruel pictures. My eyes couldn't believe what they were seeing. No animal deserves to be treated that way or tested on like that. One word.cruel. Thanks. Good topic.
Pro if it's gony save peoples lives then it can only be a good thing and since the animals are bred to be used in experiments then at least their life has had a useful purpose.
Pro because you can't project human feelings or emotions to animals. They don't have the consciousness and they don't have the ability to reason. The experiments done on animals advance not only human health but animal health as well. Am I for animal testing for cosmetics? No. The purpose of that is vanity. But if animal testing advances medical science to the point where the spinal injured walk, the blind see or the deaf hear you have to go for it.
I don't think I am pro but I do think that in the past great medical advances were made because of some animal.
With today's advances in Research you would think though that they could do things without the need of hurting some poor animal. I do know that mice are used alot because of the fast reproductive rate... Rates that if the experiment were done on a human would take 100 years to complete, 100 years would be a long time if a cure for something were only a few years in the making.
