What fridge should I get?

I'm looking at fridges and cars and I've already asked a question about a hybrid car. I want a side by side with the dispensor. Which ones would be effecient?

Answer:
I just bought a Whirlpool fridge not that long ago and it is pretty efficient. It has In Door Ice, which is exclusively from Whirlpool and is a must. When you do look at refrigerators, make sure the one you buy is Energy Star certified.
Just make sure it's got the Energy Star label and it will be efficient. Here's some information about Energy Star refrigerators:

And here you can input your criteria (i.e. side-by-side) and see what Energy Star fridges are available that meet your criteria:

Maytag and Kenmore seem to make some good ones.
Kenmore fridge. Trust Me
Any modern refrigerator will be far more efficient than those made 20 years ago...

Side by sides are inherantly less efficient than top-freezer types.

Most effcient would be SEPARATE "all-refrigerator" and chest type freezer.

The "all-refrigerator" doesn't need a defrost system and the defrost heater (and then cooling stuff back down) uses a lot of extra energy.

Chest freezers dont have the big air-exchange when you open them. So they don't have to work as hard to get the temperature back down when you get out your frozen pizza.
If you're in the US there's a sticker on it, that lists its' energy consumption and those of similar models.

Every manufacturer makes some models that are energy efficient, and some not, so you can't tell just by the manufacturers name.
