How come people will boycott tangerines for the sake of the earth but...?

Very few major public figures have been getting the word out that boycotting factory farmed livestock would make many times the impact? Is it our meat-and-potatos culture? Or is everyone just too afraid to go up against the meat industry?

Answer:
Because the tangerine growers / suppliers dont finance political campaigns.
It could be domestic industry to, they would like to keep them strong. Boycotting foreign products doesn't really matter in terms of politics and finances.
How come you all forget that less than a 150 years a ago buffalo darkened the plains in numbers far exceeding the farmed livestock of today. Or would that be a inconvenient truth? Forget I asked I wouldn't want to burst your bubble.
