should I feel guilty about driving my car, Travelling by plane wearing nice clothes made in some far fung place all contributing co emissions to the planet and lets face it if we stopped all of that we would all be poor for the fact there would be less jobs. In my eyes its all a tax scam

To all fo you who are saying this isn't true: The World has been changing its temperature for many many canturies, and its not about to stop. The Government just decided to jump up and down this time and declare that they are rising taxes, to supposedly help stop Global Warming. It IS a Tax scam

It is proven that countries and governments can help the environment and it be good for their economy.
People do not need to live like peasants , just buy and use more smarter made and disposed of goods.

global warming is nonsense. man has not recorded global climatic patterns long enough for such a claim. volcanoes do more damage to the ozone and the planet itself then anything man has done so far. the planet is a living organic thing like you. it will evolve and change. whether its from axis repositioning, continued overcast due to volcanoes or mass human overpopulation. think of the earth getting bigger from the inside out. "hence the continents looking like the could be place together" if this theory stands correct then gradually less water would be around which means more land that holds heat better than water. also with the advent of so much asphalt, concrete, and steel structures in big cities these places hold heat well and help produce severe weather. starting with a warm stagnate front. sound ridiculous but its true. less green planet means a hotter one.
Global warming is merely a THEORY, and the planet is warming up, whether it's our fault or not is another matter

We should certainly protect the environment and as soon as someone can really work out how to do that we should all pay attention to them.
Now we only have scientists trying to get big research grants, non-scientific evidence saying it must be hotter than it was because some glaciers are melting somewhere and shock stories about sea levels rising when it is apparent that if they are it is by an infinitely small amount.
Science cannot accurately predict the weather in one weks time but people want to believe it can look hundreds of years into the future. We actually need a lot more facts and a lot less opinion.

I too believe it's a load of crap used to squeeze a little more tax from the masses, and if you insist on helping the environment be more concerned about stuff like water quality, or ensuring transport and / or factories don't cause a repeat of the London killer smog incident of the 1950's than be worried about global warming.
Not at all. Global warming isnt even known to be entirely true. All the things you here about global warming are estimates, half truths or just flat out lies. First of all, climate is way too difficult for scientists to understand. Meteorologists cant even get the 10 day forecast right, how do you expect predictions 100s of years into the future to be accurate. Also, most of the stuff you here about melting glaciers has been going on for years. The polar ice caps have been melting for the past 6000 years...not only recently like the news and other media sources have led you to believe. Also, the increase in carbon dioxide has been minimal. From 316 to 376 parts per million. Thats barely noticible. As for species becoming extinct, scientists dont really know. If scientists dont know the total number of species on the planet, how do they know that many species are becoming extinct today. As for rising sea levels, most places show a n increase of under 20 centimeters or a decrease. This proves that global warming is not necessarily true. Deforestation is a problem that should be rectified, but global warming is nothing to worry about. It isnt a tax scam because the government has no way to make money off of global warming. The real scam is hybrid cars and the high prices they are sold for.
You may be right. I think we should all quit breathing to reduce the CO2 in the atmosphere. That would solve all of our problems.
