What will you do, what are you doing?

To protect and guard your family as the world continues to get worse? The governments don't listen, except to their own pocket books. The canary in the mine shaft has already died. So now I am left to ponder, how can I best take care of my descendants? My children? It is kind of like the whole building of a bomb shelter mentality except that the concern is how can I keep my family alive in a hostile environment? We are human, we can use our brains to build. I have though of a community effortto build "bio-domes" per say and try to establish a means of desalinizing seawater and sustaining an environment inside. Because the glacial waters will subside, rivers will disappear, disease will spread, aquifers will dry up. Inland would be inhospitable. Anyway... you get the idea. What do you think of something like this? Private funds and private people contributing?

I started two years ago. I have books on every conceivable subject having to do with being able to grow food and process it without the use of power. Being able to make everything a person needs like clothes and shoes and furniture or even build a shelter. How to find and identify food in the wild, how to find water and purify it for drinking. How to use herbs and tree bark for medicinal purposes. You get the idea. I also have an old sewing machine which runs without electricity. I converted my property with weed mat and bark to the point were I need to water only every two weeks in the hottest weather and I grow things to eat on it instead of grass which does no one any good. I compost all my stuff including the newspapers and mail which come to my door. I trained my children in self defense for the day that may or hopefully may not come when they have to fight for their existence. I know how to build an oven out of clay for cooking and heating purposes. I make sure I leave the earth cleaner than as I found it if possible. I contact politicians and let them know that they will not get my vote if I find them voting in ways that endanger the environment. I suggest these things for everyone, learn, be proactive, have lots of reference materials, conserve your resources, learn to defend your family and then maybe we will have a chance.

I am doing nothing and will continue to do nothing..

I can easily adapt to any / all climate changes..
The earths climate has been changing for 4 1/2 Billion
years and will continue to do so...

I do care about this earth, but even if your elaborate doomsday scenario were all to come true, my answer would still be the same: pray.
After all, the Creator of this earth will do a far better job than you or in solving these matters.

Explain all your concerns and cares with the author of life. Cast your cares apon Him. He cares and is waiting for your response.

What will happen...will happen. We have been working on creating products that are healthy for the environment, and conserving more then we did 40 years ago, and yet.the world is still getting worse. I think its a pattern, never ending. If the world does fall down around our ears, all we can do is do the best we can. If its ment to happen, its ment to happen and there is something that you or I can do to stop it. I'm not saying don't be prepared...but I don't forsee the world crumbling to a end any time soon. Atleast not in the next 10 years. Just remember.the More you panic, the more money capatalists make, because you BUY more.interesting huh? Panic the people...get a crud of money. Books, shelters, supplies...etc etc.

Let's take a closer look at your statements, shall we?

1. "...the world continues to get worse..." : Really? You have spoken to and evaluated the entire earth? Historically speaking, we are a helluva lot better than we were just a century ago.

2. "The governments don't listen..." Again, you've spoke to all of them? Are you aware the globally, the combined total of government and private spending on things like housing, food, shelter, medicine, etc... in the last 5 years exceeds 10 trillion dollars?

3. " How can I take care of my descendants?": You can't!! You anscestors didn't give a rat's * about you and you can't take care of something about which you do not know. Your descendants will take care of themselves.

4. " How can I keep my family alive in a hostile environment?" Huh? What makes you think the future is a hostile environment? Your view of human nature is REALLY dark. Frankly, even if the global warming doomsdayers are right, humanity will rise up to meet the challenge, not hover in fear of it's neighbors.

5."... rivers will disappear, disease will spread, inland waters will subside..." You forgot the plague of locust!! Geez, get real here. Even if all of the glaciers and ice caps melt, the melt-off woul;d fill the majority of the aquifers across the palnet. Sorry, but lack of water is not one of the "fears" of the global warming doomsday machine.

By the way, I do believe global warming is taking place, but it's a naturally occuring thing that runs in known and predictable cycles. Human beings will not perish from the earth. We will simply adapt (just like we have for tens of thousands of years!

Im doing my best to live through this global warming crisis, wheter we can stop it or not. Im take the bus everywhere i go. I recycle anything that can be recycled. I try to save energy by turning off lights when im not using it. Im doing my own part in helping to slow down global warming because I think that every individual can make a big difference.
