What do you do so as not to need to put your garbage bin on sidewalk.?
Answer:
First, compost anything stinky, as you do. Second, buy in bulk so that there is an absolute minimum of packaging. Third, recycle anything that can be recycled. Result, one bag of trash for 2 people and a home-based business every 6-8 weeks. At that rate, it's a lot cheaper to drop it off at the landfill myself than pay for garbage pickup ($3.50/bag at the landfill with free recycling, versus $58/month for weekly unlimited curb service).
