Can the planet really save clapped-out rock stars?
Answer:
The short answer is No! That is providing you accept this a global warming problem in the first place.
Assuming there is a global warming problem to put on a show like this with clapped - in or out rock stars has a cost in terms of carbon usage. The carbon footprint world wide must be very large. All those stars travelling to the various venues not to mention the carbon cost of the travelling fans.
Somebody is making money jumping on the carbon cost bandwagon, trading on the guilt of the more affluent fans.
I say to all those thinking of attending or watching on the tele don,t, This way you will contribute more to the reduction of carbon.
Some person out there is going to tell me all the rock stars are travelling to the venues by bicycle that all the fans are travelling of foot, that the electricity needed for the stage is provided by wind farms. There is hardly any activity that does not produce a carbon foot print, just some activities produce more that others.
Good question. I doubt it.
It will make some money for Al Gore's company that sells those phony carbon credits and it will probably get him some support for his presidential campaign.
