Does the methane gas in cow flatulence have anything to do with global warming?

Answer:
18 percent of the greenhouse effect is caused by methane

There are several major sources of methane: rice paddies (methane-producing bacteria thrive in the underwater environment), swamps and wetlands (ditto), mining and oil drilling, landfills, termites (although there's still some controversy on this one), "biomass burning" (notably in the Amazon rain forest), and animals. Ninety percent of animal methane is produced by ruminants (i.e., cud-chewers). These include sheep, goats, camels, water buffalo, and so on, but most of all cattle, of which the world has an estimated 1.2 billion.
Not even close to what the coal plants in the U.S, China and India do to global warming.
yes
No illegal immigrants are to blame for global warming!
A small portion of the anthropogenic methane in the atmosphere comes from domesticated animals... the majority comes from man-made rice paddies and garbage dumps.
you known im a doctor so i think it is not warming
Yes but after you consider how many humans equal one cow!
I believe you hit the nail on the head.
How foolish of me not to have recognized the culprit previously.
Thanks for the head's up ;)
yes, actually...a tiny little bit but the earth can handle cow farts...it can't handle petroleum and aerosol etc.
yes pretty much about 20 percent of the methane gas or at least that is what i know. and among other things but thing is not only human activity but there is also nature activity that is causing global warming.
Yes It does
It adds to the smell too =]
Yes , in fact the generation of methane gases by cattle is very high in its volume.
Funny, but true. Cow's digestive tracts generate methane, which is a greenhouse gas 20x more intense then CO2.
Naw, cows been here since the Garden of Eden, it's the
flatulence in CONGRESS thats causing all the problems.
Yes.

Cows and pigs contribute a measurable (albeit small in proportion to other sources) amount to green house gasses.
No, methane gas is created by decaying organic matter weather is in the body (cows, people,ect...) or outside the body (plants, dead animals, swamps) That type of gas has been created for millions of years and has little effect because it get diluted easier than the manufactured gasses like CFCs witch can reach higher altitudes and destroy the ozone layer.
Yes, methane gas from cows is a bigger polluter than transportation. Info is from the Glenn Beck show, the 3rd most listened show on the radio.
