Global warming?
From where I am day to day it seems nothing has changed in people's day to day lives which concerns me a wee bit. As this site would appear to have "the average man (and woman obviously)" on it, I would like to ask what changes you have made in your lives to reduce carbon emmissions etc?
Answer:
I know it is a difficult transition to make from a traditional lifestlye, I myself have just started making simple changes, such as changing all light bulbs to energy efficient ones, when I go shopping ANYWHERE I always carry my eco-friendly tote bag to carry my purchased items to avoid purchasing plastic or paper bags. I have also started recylcing to seperate items and allow them to become reusuable items.
And last but not least, I carpool with some colleagues at work every week to at least reduce the 2-3 times a week I have to use my car to reduce carbon emissions.
I can only recommend to others to seek out little steps, whether you live by yourself or at home, make an impact, others will see the good change and follow but it takes one change, one difference to make all the difference! Good luck!
energy afficent light bulbs, recycle, and have carpools so we dont drive all the time...
Tell farmers about sustainable farming ,water harvesting and organic pest control,
Talk to kids about Environmental awareness
I have made a lot of gardens
I answer in yahoo
I have planted thousands of trees by now
And i have worked for 30 years +
develloping eco tourism ,and selfsustainable human and animal environments.
And send this message a lot and

global warming cannot be stopped but we can stop helping it becoming faster, and being friendlier to out Environment cannot be bad
-----------------------------.
The best we can do as individuals is be more responsible ,in our own neck of the woods
Organise well publicized clean up parties ,talk on the radio
Have citizan meetings
Get the shools involved to plant trees and listen to environmental awareness talks,
If you do any cleaning up leave signs behind saying who cleaned, why and ask people not to start dumping rubbish again ,leave a hole or bins ,in case people come with trash ,
We have done a lot of comunity cleaning and if you dont leave alternatives or try to work on peoples guilt feelings (some people actually have those ,but not many)
than your efforts are a waste of time.
That is what we do in Mexico
POSITIVE ACTIONS
Print Tshirts with slogans ,hang posters all over the place (with recycled paper if possible)
Classify trash take out all the organic waste and make compost with it ,the worst you can do is throw it with the trash
70% of contamination is due to organic waste that is mixed in with the garbage .
And it is just as bad in the sewer where it helps to breed rats and in the landfill it poisons the ground
And it is the easiest to take care of
o first of all we have to clasify trash at least keep the organic to one side ,like in a plasic bin with a lid
If you got a few meters of ground ,you only need 1 or 2 square meters in a shallow hole ,in the shade ,that you can wet now and again ,where you dump everything that is organic ,from toilet paper, bones vegetable cuttings ,eggshells,,dead bodies ,excrement ,and cover regularly with leaves to keep humid and to hide any smell
the worms will come and decompose the wastes truning it into beautifull blck soil for the garden of flower pots .
If you are in a apartment ,if you have a balcony get a big plastic bin drill some holes in the side and lid ,
Add a few buckets of sand now and again to put over the trash ,you should realt stir or move the stuff at times to airate it and ensure that the decomposition is overall ,keep moist
This rubbish does not get big very fast and the thing works for a long time with out getting full

If you want to help the planet ,plant a tree every week ,if everyone on the planet did we we would be able to slowdown the destructive processes
Reduce carbon emisions, and they are already working on that by alternative forms of energy and regulations on carbon producing materials, aerosol cans, burning rubbish, industrial chimneys, powerplants etc.
The capture of carbon and the production of water and assist the aquiferous manta.
The world bank pays large subsidies for reforrestation to capture carbon and the best tree for this is the Pawlonia
Waterharvesting projects ,such as millions of small dams.to redirect over ground waterflows from the rains into the ground to supply subteranian water supplies.
The protection of existing forrests.
Stop building more highways, urban planning to include vegetation stop building cities encourage people to return to the land to conduct their business from there which now has become possible thanks to the internet.
Education to motivate people to auto sufficiency by building more home food gardens.
Education on environmental awareness
education on family planning to curb over´population
Agricultural education and improvements to follow the principals or sustainability and soil management.
More environmental or land ,design to prevent bush fires, such as--fire breaks
More dams.regulations and control for public behaviour
Alternative effeciant public transport to discourage the use of the internal conbustion engine
Recicling wastes,limit water use

Why , in the US I have stopped eating beef, ice cream, and fatty foods...No more erroneous gas.I am sure my new dietary habits have helped clear the way ...what about you?
None.. it would do no good in any case.
In FunQA.com: Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi
ask: “Congress is working on legislation to address global warming - what would you like to see included?”
Dear Madam Speaker,
I’d personally LOVE to see: Moneys allocated for placing geo-synchronous solar collectors in orbit to collect enough non-polluting energy to make fusel flues obsolete.
See “The High Frontier” by Dr. Gerard K O’Neal
http://www.amazon.com/high-frontier-huma... [No it not a fictional work. It is a workable proposal in place since the first fuel crises of the 1970s.]
The concepts and proposals are NOT new… And by placing enough of the collectors into orbit the US becomes an exporter of it’s Owen exes energy… And the Detroit MI area has a LOT of the infrastructure already in place west of town. [Detroit Metro airport as a recovery sight then west to the abandoned factories, for refurbish of each shuttle and out to the Irish Hills where a “mass-driver” electromagnetic lunch rile can be built. Also there is a technically sophisticated workforce in place, and seeking work in a collapsed economy.]
None of this will happen however as Gorge W. is an “oil-tycoon” that believes in the large profits he makes from the burning of fossil flues. And enacting the above outlined plan would make big oil obsolete.
What I would purpose, based on Dr. O’Neal’s work begins with:
• “Seed money” from the US government, the states of Michigan and… New Mexico? With additional moneys from any and all business interests looking to bye in. to the venture.
• A NEW shuttle design, from the ground up and purposely built, to place collectors into orbit, based ONLY loosely on the existing shuttle/747 configuration and launched from an electromagnetic mass-driver west of Detroit.
• Solar collector satellites with “tight-beam” microwave relay transmitters to “Punch through” the Earth’s atmosphere to a collector station, located out and away from major population-centers. [New Mexico comes to mind here.]
• The resulting electric energy is then converted to AC, and into the existing power grid
• US auto manufactures would simultaneously begin design of a new generation of ALL electric cars, With energy efficient flywheel braking
Furthermore a tax incentive can then be offered to the population for construction of energy efficient [Earth-Berm Earth-shelter, Passive solar. Wind generator… ] housing.
Don’t ask IF you aren’t ready to hear me rant.
With all due respects,
PennyAnn
I stopped mowing the lawn and save on gas, but apparently it's against the law to not pollute and create waste. so I got an electric lawn mower... too bad the electric company burns coal.
I take the bus or ride my bike whenever I can. Too bad the bus run on gas, and during non-peak hours produce unnecessary pollution, especially when they idle on their break times. Biking is good for the environment, except drivers try to run you over or shove you of the road, and it's illegal to ride on the sidewalks, even if it's empty.
I don't accept fliers or newspaper, but the newspaper boys pile it on my doorstep anyways to meet their quotas.
I don't buy disposable stuff, because that's extremely wasteful, but that's what people want.
will this save the world? no, but at least I can say proudly to the future generations of kids that I tried, before we pass on the cess pool that is our legacy.
What you need to know about global warming is that humans are NOT responsible for it. There is plenty of evidence proving otherwise, including temperature shifts over tens of thousands of years. There is NOTHING we can do to prevent or change it.
You HAVE to know by now that the global warming idea is simply a means to generate money. All you have to do is look at all the new companies selling "carbon credits" or "carbon offsets"! This is a fraud, and anyone who purchases carbon credits hasnt done their research.
We havent changed anyting because of global warming. We';ve just changed to lower the costs.
Global wamring is not real
if u light a fart, the methane will change to co2 & h2o. methane is more global warming than co2
Not much, really. I've been conserving for many years before this global warming frenzy and will continue to after it fades away. In many ways, I've benefited from a global awareness - it's become cheaper to be environmentally conscious: before I had to travel to the recycling center or the mulching center, now they come to me. Energy efficient appliances and lighting are cheaper. I bought a hybrid when they first became available, although I have had vehicles that are almost as efficient (and truthfully, unless you understand how your hybrid needs to be driven and make a conscious effort, you won't realize any savings over a comparably equipped vehicle with gas or diesel engine). Deregulation has allowed getting power from a provider like Green Mountain Energy as cheap and hassle-free as conventional providers
http://www.greenmountainenergy.com/texas...
(at least in my state, it's as cheap).
The only place where I have lost money is in the recycling of aluminum. It's down about 60% from the highest rate I remember. The loss is even greater if you factor in inflation. But it's nice to know that recycling efforts have changed the face of aluminum production. It is cheaper and more energy efficient to use recycled aluminum than to mine and smelt the ores. That is really something if you know about the particular difficulty in reducing aluminum ore compared to other metals. Other types of recycling may be resource conservative, but not so much of energy.
Nothing, because man-made global warming is ridiculous.
