How many trees to plant?
Answer:
maybe about 2000
it takes 1 tree about 20 years before it comes even close to functioning the same as far as environmental impact is concerned as a fully grown tree
But every tree planted counts
However
we have planted many thousands of trees with the schools and only a fraction survived
so the planting is not enough
Instead of planting thousands it is sometimes better to plant a few that you can monitor
irrigate etc
such as on your own property
too bad the powers that govern us are doing things like this

Carbon footprint, huh? Somebody has been listening to Al Gore's propoganda lies way too intently! Anyway, besides the fact the there is no such thing as "gw".it would be great if you could plant 20 healthy trees per year. That should, at least, add more oxygen to the air where they are planted.
Carbon offsets accomplish nothing... stay home.
For a tree to offset the most carbon it should be planted where it will canopy over areas where nothing is growing, for example, a driveway, street or roof. If it is planted over grass or brush then the planting has a neutral effect wrt carbon offset since the grass or brush shaded by the tree will not be growing as much.
Isn't doing carbon credits because you're polluted sort of the same thing as donating to a women's shelter after cheating on your wife?
Well good...
You doing a good work by planting trees well you can cheak the web here the link
Plant a few on your own property, and make sure that they get a good start. Every tree is important.
I just read about this website on the Wall Street Journal: Carbon Diet Plan. It is an application that can put us on a 'carbon diet'. As an individual and friends, we can make an impact on global warming 1 lb at a time.
