Could I be Bipolar?

I for some reason get mood swings constantly, every single day. I could get mad for the stupidest reason or just randomly get mad or sad about anything, but in maybe in 15 min., even in an hour i could be happy again and feel good about myself.

When im mad i feel disgusted about myself and how i act around people and i get angry at people for not accepting me. But when suddenly i get happy i feel good about myself. I get glad to be the way i am, and i dont care what people think of me.

Also sometimes when i do get mad or sad it could last for days. I start to feel guilty, i feel like no one likes me, I lose confidence, i sleep more, i feel like i'm living for nothing and sometimes i get thoughts on suicidal.

Could i be bipolar or is this just a phase. I'm 15 by the way.

Answer:
With the significant transitions between happy and sad, you could very well be bipolar. I would seek counseling, or even see your family doctor, and they can prescribe medication that will "balance out" everything. I would definitely inform your parents that you are having these mood swings, trust me, they will want to help you!
15, depression. Not Bipolar, bipolar is getting upset over no reason in snap of a change. Seek professional help from your school guidance counselor.
I'm twelve and I've gotten that since I was like six. I never thought of it as being bipolar, but it is a possibility
Don't worry about it too much-

with the constant influences and variables we are faced with everyday panic about normality is inevitable.

We have less structures in our lives now then ever before and thus less stability. Please don't feel bad about having changing moods- you aren't living for nothing and there will be fantastic things in your life and fantastic opportunities in the future.

All the best
well, is anyone related to you bipolar or had some sort of mood disorder?

No? then maybe just hormones, but if it starts affecting the way go about your life, you may wanna talk to someone
The mood episodes in bipolar disorder tend to last for days and weeks at a time rather than just a few minutes. You may just have a hint of emotional dysregulation.
Nah.
My Spanish teacher, she was Bipolar.
No. Just ease off and relax. Meet a good therapist and have a nice chat. It can help
no
I would say you are dealing with depression. Mood swings, feelings of hopelessness, guilt, suicidal ideation, worthlessness, sleeping more than usual, irritability. These are classic signs of depression. I would say see a doctor as soon as possible. If you don't think your parents would beleive you or support you in this matter, seek help from your school psychologist or school nurse. Some people may tell you that it's hormones, which may very well be true, teenagers often experience emotional instability and mood swings, but because it seems that you are feeling very uncomfortable, seek help and don't let others poo-poo what you are feeling.
Hi there. I'm sorry to hear you've been feeling sad. You should speak to your parents or another responsible adult like your teacher or your family doctor because whether you have bipolar or whether it is just a phase having suicidal thoughts isn't healthy for even the best of us. Now you are just having these thoughts but what happens when you get so depressed you start acting them out, then it's too late. It could well be hormonal changes, or stress from school or it could be depression, you really need to talk to your family or doctor or teacher about this honey, before it gets out of control. I'd like to add that you are very brave talking about your feeling like this, knowing you have a problem is half way to getting better.
good luck and feel free to contact me anytime if you need to talk :)
Judging by your age, it is unlikely: in most cases, bipolar disorder manifests itself in people who are in their twenties for the first time.
However, if you have a feeling something is not right, go to a specialist, and not just one. Mental health problems are always tricky to diagnose, and even if a psychiatrist were to answer your question on this forum, it would be completely inadequate: nobody can give you a diagnosis without meeting with you in person over several sessions, certainly not based on a few lines.
Many teenagers struggle with depression, it's becoming an epidemic. Again, if you feel suicidal, I urge you to seek professional help. Teenage angst is one thing, coming to terms with who you are is a normal process of becoming an adult, but if you really have black thoughts, that it is not just a normal struggle with socialization or hormonal changes.
Again, all I can suggest is seeing a professional, especially if you have a history of BP in your family.
It could just be a part of being a teenager, it sounds very similar to it, but it could be early symptoms of bipolar or you could have a slight case, a personality disorder or even depression. In adolescents the symptoms are hard to diagnose because they tend to have more rapid cycling bipolar. I'm 17 and was just diagnosed after suffering for at least 3 years, 3 psychiatrists, 2 misdiganoses (schizophrenia and borderline), a hospital visit and over two grand for a counsellor (whom I still see.) If you really are worried go see your doctor, or a therapist. Get a handle on it as soon as possible. I would never discourage anyone from doing this if they are concerned about their mental health. If those suicidal thoughts get worse, you are unable to get rid of them or you start planning get yourself to emergency (they'll probably have a psychiatry unit) or to the earliest doctor's appointment you can.
Best of luck to you. If you need anything, message me and I'd be glad to listen.
